Target roles that align with H-1B1 eligibility
Thompson Engineering sponsors through the H-1B1 visa program, which is exclusive to Singaporean and Chilean nationals. Focus your application on specialty occupation roles in consulting or engineering where your background directly matches H-1B1 requirements.
Lead with your specialty occupation credentials
Consulting and professional services firms evaluate candidates on technical depth and domain expertise. Make sure your resume and cover letter clearly demonstrate a degree in a field directly related to the role, this is central to H-1B1 visa eligibility.
Reach out before positions are formally posted
Professional services firms like Thompson Engineering often fill roles through referrals and direct outreach. Connecting with hiring managers or practice leads before a job is listed can put you in consideration before the competitive applicant pool forms.
Understand the H-1B1 timeline before you apply
Unlike the H-1B lottery, the H-1B1 visa is filed directly at consulates without a registration process. Knowing this timeline helps you align your application with Thompson Engineering's hiring cycle and set realistic expectations for your start date.
Position yourself for consulting-specific interview processes
Thompson Engineering's consulting focus means interviews likely include case-style or project-based assessments. Preparing for these formats alongside demonstrating visa eligibility signals that you're a ready hire, not a sponsorship risk.
Use Migrate Mate to find verified sponsoring employers
Targeting companies with a real H-1B1 visa sponsorship history saves time and effort. Migrate Mate surfaces verified sponsors so you can filter by actual sponsorship history and focus your search on firms like Thompson Engineering that have filed before.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Thompson Engineering sponsor H-1B visas?
Thompson Engineering's sponsorship activity is focused on the H-1B1 visa rather than the standard H-1B visa. The H-1B1 is a separate nonimmigrant work visa available exclusively to nationals of Singapore and Chile. If you hold citizenship in either country and work in a specialty occupation, Thompson Engineering is worth targeting as part of your sponsorship search.
Which visa types does Thompson Engineering sponsor?
Thompson Engineering sponsors the H-1B1 visa, which covers specialty occupation workers from Singapore and Chile. This program does not require the annual H-1B lottery and is processed through consular filing, making the timeline more predictable. The company does not have a documented history of Green Card or E-3 visa sponsorship based on available filing records.
What types of roles at Thompson Engineering are most likely to receive visa sponsorship?
Given Thompson Engineering's focus on Consulting & Professional Services, sponsored roles are most likely in technical consulting, engineering, or analytical positions that require a directly related bachelor's degree or higher. Specialty occupation status is a legal requirement for H-1B1 visa sponsorship, so roles with clearly defined degree requirements tend to be the strongest candidates for sponsorship consideration.
How do I improve my chances of getting sponsored by Thompson Engineering?
Start by confirming you meet H-1B1 visa eligibility, you must be a Singaporean or Chilean national working in a qualifying specialty occupation. Tailor your application to demonstrate that your degree field directly matches the role. Engaging with the firm through professional networks before formally applying can also strengthen your candidacy, since consulting firms often value warm introductions.
How do I find open roles at Thompson Engineering that offer visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is the most efficient way to find roles at verified sponsoring employers like Thompson Engineering. You can filter by visa type and sponsorship history to surface positions that are genuinely open to H-1B1 visa candidates, rather than applying broadly and discovering sponsorship limitations later in the process.
