Obtain Your Series 6 or 7 Early
JPMorganChase requires FINRA licensing for Private Client Advisor roles before you can serve clients. Clearing your Series 6 or Series 7 exam before applying removes a conditional hiring step that can complicate visa petition timelines.
Target Branch Markets With Persistent Openings
Private Client Advisor vacancies at JPMorganChase cluster in high-density markets like New York, Los Angeles, and Chicago. Concentrating your search on branches in these regions improves your odds of finding a hiring manager with direct sponsorship authority.
Search Sponsor-Verified Roles on Migrate Mate
Filter for Private Client Advisor positions at JPMorganChase on Migrate Mate to surface roles where visa sponsorship is confirmed. This cuts out time spent on postings where sponsorship is ambiguous or unavailable for this function.
Clarify Sponsorship Scope During Recruiter Screening
JPMorganChase's recruiting process for this role moves through a centralized HR screening before reaching the branch level. Ask the recruiter explicitly whether the specific posting supports H-1B or E-3 sponsorship, since approval varies by cost center and business unit.
Understand the DOL Prevailing Wage Requirement for This Role
Before your employer files an H-1B or E-3 petition, DOL prevailing wage levels must be met for the Private Client Advisor job code. Research wage level data published in DOL's Foreign Labor Certification disclosure files so you can negotiate an offer that qualifies without triggering a compliance issue.
Plan Around the H-1B Cap if You Are on OPT
If you are currently on F-1 OPT and targeting a full-time Private Client Advisor role, your H-1B registration must be submitted in March for an October start date. A gap between OPT expiration and cap-subject H-1B approval can disrupt licensing continuity, so map your exam and graduation dates against the USCIS registration window.

Find Private Client Advisor at JPMorganChase JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does JPMorganChase sponsor H-1B visas for Private Client Advisors?
Yes, JPMorganChase sponsors H-1B visas for Private Client Advisor roles. Sponsorship is handled through the firm's corporate immigration function, not at the branch level, so the process is standardized. The role must meet the DOL specialty occupation and prevailing wage requirements, and your offer must clear internal legal review before USCIS filing begins.
Which visa types does JPMorganChase commonly use for Private Client Advisor roles?
JPMorganChase sponsors H-1B and E-3 visas most frequently for this role. Australian citizens are well-positioned to use the E-3 category, which has no lottery and allows year-round filing. For permanent residence, JPMorganChase also supports EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card sponsorship for employees in this function who have demonstrated sustained performance.
What qualifications does JPMorganChase expect for a Private Client Advisor role?
JPMorganChase expects a bachelor's degree in finance, business, or a related field, along with active FINRA Series 6 or Series 7 licensing. Proven experience managing client portfolios or financial planning relationships is weighted heavily in hiring decisions. For visa purposes, your degree must align with the specialty occupation definition that supports the H-1B or E-3 petition.
How do I apply for Private Client Advisor jobs at JPMorganChase?
You can browse and apply for Private Client Advisor openings at JPMorganChase directly through Migrate Mate, which surfaces roles where visa sponsorship is confirmed for this position. Applications route through JPMorganChase's centralized recruiting team before reaching branch-level hiring managers, so tailoring your resume to the financial advisory and client relationship language in each posting improves screening outcomes.
How do I understand the timeline for H-1B sponsorship at JPMorganChase?
If you are subject to the H-1B cap, USCIS registration opens in March and selected petitions have an October 1 start date. JPMorganChase typically completes internal legal review and DOL Labor Condition Application filing in the weeks following selection. Premium processing is available and reduces the USCIS adjudication window to 15 business days, which most sponsored candidates in this role use to confirm status before their start date.
