Align your portfolio to uniform production experience
McDonald's Sewing roles typically support uniform and branded merchandise programs. Tailor your resume and portfolio to emphasize production sewing, pattern following, and quality control in high-volume garment environments rather than custom or couture work.
Verify your credential equivalency before applying
If your sewing or textile training came from outside the U.S., get a formal credential evaluation. USCIS scrutinizes educational equivalency for sponsored roles, and having a third-party evaluation ready removes a common delay in petition preparation.
Target McDonald's corporate and supply chain divisions
Sewing openings at McDonald's are more likely to sit in supply chain, sourcing, or branded merchandise teams than in restaurant operations. Focus your search on corporate and operational support job categories to find where these roles are actually posted.
Search open Sewing roles at McDonald's using Migrate Mate
Browse current Sewing openings at McDonald's filtered by visa type on Migrate Mate. You can identify which roles align with your sponsorship category before investing time in a full application, saving weeks of unproductive outreach.
Clarify TN eligibility if you hold Canadian or Mexican citizenship
TN visa classification for textile or sewing roles requires the position to map to a DOL-recognized TN occupation category. Confirm with your employer contact that the specific job title and duties satisfy TN requirements before accepting an offer contingent on that status.
Understand PERM timing if you are targeting a Green Card path
If McDonald's offers EB-2 or EB-3 sponsorship for your Sewing role, the PERM labor certification process requires the employer to complete recruitment and file with DOL before your petition can move forward. This process typically runs six months to over a year, so start the conversation early.

Find Sewing at McDonald's JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does McDonald's sponsor H-1B visas for Sewing roles?
McDonald's does sponsor H-1B visas, and Sewing roles can qualify if the position meets the USCIS specialty occupation standard, meaning the job requires at least a bachelor's degree in a specific field. Roles tied to textile engineering, product development, or technical design are stronger candidates for H-1B classification than general production sewing positions. Confirm the job description language with your recruiter before assuming H-1B eligibility.
How do I apply for Sewing jobs at McDonald's?
Applications go through McDonald's careers portal, where you can filter by job function and location. For roles requiring visa sponsorship, flag your immigration needs early in the screening process rather than waiting for an offer. Sewing and apparel roles are typically listed under supply chain, sourcing, or corporate operations categories. You can also use Migrate Mate to browse current Sewing openings at McDonald's filtered by sponsorship type.
Which visa types does McDonald's commonly use for Sewing positions?
McDonald's sponsors across several categories for Sewing roles, including H-1B for specialty occupation positions, TN for Canadian and Mexican nationals whose role maps to an approved TN occupation, and F-1 OPT or CPT for students completing U.S. degree programs. EB-2 and EB-3 immigrant visa sponsorship is also available for candidates pursuing permanent residence, though these pathways involve longer timelines and PERM labor certification through DOL.
What qualifications does McDonald's expect for sponsored Sewing roles?
Expectations vary by role level, but McDonald's Sewing positions in corporate or supply chain contexts generally favor candidates with formal training in textile production, apparel manufacturing, or a related technical field. Production volume experience, familiarity with industrial sewing equipment, and quality assurance knowledge are frequently cited in job descriptions. For H-1B sponsorship specifically, USCIS requires a direct connection between your degree field and the job duties, so generalist backgrounds without a field-specific credential can complicate the petition.
How long does the sponsorship process take for a Sewing role at McDonald's?
Timeline depends on visa type. H-1B petitions for cap-subject roles must be filed in April for an October 1 start date, so offer timing matters. TN status for Canadian citizens can be obtained at the border on the same day if documentation is complete. F-1 OPT authorization from USCIS typically takes two to three months to process after your program end date, so apply early. PERM-based Green Card sponsorship runs significantly longer, often exceeding 12 months before an immigrant visa petition can be filed.
