Target corporate roles, not restaurant positions
McDonald's visa sponsorship is concentrated at its corporate headquarters in Chicago, covering technology, finance, supply chain, and operations, not frontline restaurant staff. Focus your search on headquarters and regional office openings to find sponsorship-eligible roles.
Understand which visa types McDonald's actively supports
McDonald's has a track record sponsoring H-1B and employment-based Green Cards, along with F-1 OPT and CPT for students and TN for Canadian and Mexican nationals. Knowing which categories align with your situation helps you assess fit before applying.
Align your application to McDonald's corporate functions
Departments like data analytics, digital technology, global supply chain, and finance regularly hire skilled workers at McDonald's corporate level. These functions are where international sponsorship is most likely, target roles within them over general business or operational categories.
Time your applications around H-1B season
H-1B petitions must be filed by April 1 for an October 1 start date, with registration closing in mid-March. If you're targeting McDonald's for H-1B sponsorship, apply early enough to complete interviews and receive an offer well before February.
Filter for verified sponsors before you apply
Not every Food & Beverage company sponsors visas at the corporate level. Migrate Mate surfaces verified sponsors so you can filter by real sponsorship history and focus your applications on employers like McDonald's who have an active track record.

Find McDonald's JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does McDonald's sponsor H-1B visas?
Yes, McDonald's sponsors H-1B visas for qualified candidates in corporate roles. Sponsorship is concentrated at its Chicago headquarters across functions like technology, data analytics, finance, and supply chain operations. McDonald's is not among the highest-volume H-1B sponsors, but it maintains a consistent track record and has supported both initial petitions and Green Card pathways for retained employees.
Which departments at McDonald's are most likely to offer visa sponsorship?
Sponsorship at McDonald's is almost exclusively tied to its corporate and regional office functions. Technology, digital product, data science, finance, and global supply chain are the departments where skilled worker visa categories like H-1B and employment-based Green Cards are most commonly used. Restaurant operations and frontline management roles do not typically involve visa sponsorship.
Does McDonald's sponsor Green Cards for employees?
Yes, McDonald's has sponsored employment-based Green Cards, typically through the EB-2 or EB-3 categories, for employees in long-term corporate roles. Green Card sponsorship at McDonald's is usually offered after a period of H-1B employment, reflecting the company's willingness to retain skilled international talent in specialized functions over the long term.
How do I find visa-sponsored jobs at McDonald's?
The most effective approach is to search specifically for McDonald's corporate openings filtered by sponsorship eligibility. Migrate Mate lets you browse verified sponsoring employers, including McDonald's, so you can identify open roles where international candidates are actively considered. Focus your search on technology, finance, and operations functions at the Chicago headquarters for the strongest sponsorship fit.
What is the application timeline if I'm targeting McDonald's for H-1B sponsorship?
H-1B registration opens in early March and closes within about two weeks, with the lottery typically announced by late March. To be included, you need a job offer and filed registration before that window. Practically, this means beginning your interview process at McDonald's no later than January to allow time for offer negotiation, legal review, and registration filing before the March deadline.
