Overview
We are seeking a highly analytical and technically strong Trader with deep expertise in prediction markets and real-time modeling. The ideal candidate combines strong trading intuition, robust statistical and programming skills, and the ability to translate ambiguous problems into structured, high-quality models that drive profitable decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop complex models to generate real-time fair values for intricate, uncertain domains (e.g., weather, event-driven outcomes, or probabilistic systems)
- Identify edge cases, structural pitfalls, and modeling risks, proactively addressing them to ensure robustness and operational stability
- Assess data needs and sourcing strategies, determining what inputs are required for accurate forecasting and collaborating with relevant teams to acquire them
- Build initial model prototypes in Python, using libraries such as pandas and numpy, and partner closely with developers to productionize these models for real-world trading
- Monitor, validate, and iterate on production models, ensuring strong performance and continuously improving predictive accuracy and trading outcomes
- Identify, evaluate, and execute market-take opportunities arising from model insights and prediction-market dynamics
- Collaborate with engineering teams to optimize trading strategies, enhance infrastructure, and scale automated decision-making
What We're Looking For
- Strong understanding of trading concepts, decision science, and probabilistic reasoning
- Extensive experience with prediction markets, including market structure, pricing mechanics, and liquidity dynamics
- Proficiency in Python, with deep working knowledge of pandas and numpy
- Ability to think critically about uncertainty, model assumptions, and real-world edge cases
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work cross-functionally with traders, developers, and data teams
What’s In It For You
- Relaxed dress code (jeans and sneakers are the norm and team jerseys every Friday)
- Fully stocked kitchens for breakfast, lunch, snacks, and beverages
- A 40,000 square-foot state of the art fitness facility with brand-new equipment, multi-purpose courts, group exercise classes, and locker room spaces
- Discounts for dining, entertainment, shopping, travel, and attractions
- Social events such as a poker tournament, holiday party, company outings, and more
- On-site Wellness Center
- On-site services such as a mailroom, barber, dry cleaning, and car maintenance
- Opportunities to give back to the community through Susquehanna sponsored events and donation drives
If you're a recruiting agency and want to partner with us, please reach out to recruiting@sig.com. Any resume or referral submitted in the absence of a signed agreement will not be eligible for an agency fee.

Align your resume with quant-heavy projects
SIG evaluates Data Science Interns on applied quantitative skills, not just coursework. Prioritize projects involving statistical modeling, algorithmic analysis, or large-scale data pipelines. Vague academic descriptions get filtered out faster than gaps in experience.
Target SIG's recruiting cycle at target schools
SIG recruits Data Science Interns heavily through on-campus programs at quantitative-focused programs. Apply through your university's career portal in early fall, since SIG often extends offers months before the internship starts and positions fill quickly.
Use Migrate Mate to find current Data Science Intern openings
SIG posts roles across multiple channels and hiring timelines shift quickly. Use Migrate Mate to filter active Data Science Intern openings at SIG that are open to visa sponsorship, so you're applying to verified positions rather than outdated listings.
Prepare for H-1B timing if you plan to return full-time
If SIG converts your internship to a full-time role, H-1B registration opens in March for an October 1 start. Your employer must register you before that window. Confirm the conversion timeline with your recruiter well before your internship ends.

Find Data Science Intern at Susquehanna International Group JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Susquehanna International Group sponsor H-1B visas for Data Science Interns?
Yes, SIG sponsors H-1B visas, typically for interns who convert to full-time roles after graduation. The H-1B requires employer sponsorship, and SIG has a documented history of filing across multiple visa categories including H-1B and H-1B1. Most intern-stage sponsorship happens through F-1 CPT or OPT, with H-1B sponsorship following a full-time offer.
How do I apply for Data Science Intern jobs at Susquehanna International Group?
Apply directly through SIG's careers page or through your university's recruiting portal if SIG recruits on campus. The process typically involves a quantitative and coding assessment followed by technical interviews. Applications for summer internships open in early fall, so submitting early matters. Migrate Mate lists current Data Science Intern openings at SIG filtered for visa sponsorship eligibility.
Which visa types are commonly used for Data Science Intern roles at Susquehanna International Group?
F-1 CPT and F-1 OPT are the most common visa types for Data Science Interns at SIG, covering international students during and immediately after their degree programs. SIG also sponsors TN visas for eligible Canadian and Mexican nationals, and J-1 visas for certain internship arrangements. Post-internship full-time hires may be sponsored for H-1B or, over time, EB-2 or EB-3 green card categories.
What qualifications and experience does SIG expect from Data Science Intern candidates?
SIG looks for strong foundations in statistics, probability, and programming, with Python being the most relevant language for data science roles. Coursework or project experience in machine learning, quantitative modeling, or large dataset analysis is valued. SIG's interview process is technically rigorous, so candidates without applied problem-solving experience beyond standard coursework often struggle to advance past the assessment stage.
How do I plan my visa timeline as a Data Science Intern at SIG?
If you're on F-1 status, confirm your CPT authorization at least two weeks before your start date, since SIG's onboarding timelines are structured and delays in work authorization can affect your offer. If you're approaching OPT, apply to USCIS at least 90 days before your program end date, as standard OPT processing takes several weeks and SIG cannot delay your start for pending authorization.
