Frame your HR experience in semiconductor terms
TSMC's HR function supports engineers, fab technicians, and R&D teams, so tailor your resume to show experience recruiting or supporting technical talent pipelines, not just generalist HR work. Hiring managers will prioritize candidates who understand manufacturing workforce dynamics.
Target HR business partner roles strategically
TSMC's fastest-growing HR headcount is in HRBP and talent acquisition roles tied to fab expansion. Roles supporting engineering or operations divisions are more likely to come with sponsorship approval than corporate generalist positions, which face higher internal competition from domestic candidates.
Confirm your credentials meet specialty occupation requirements
For H-1B eligibility, your HR role must qualify as a specialty occupation requiring a bachelor's degree or higher in a specific field. Degrees in human resources management, organizational psychology, or industrial relations map more cleanly than a general business degree, which USCIS may scrutinize.
Start your job search on Migrate Mate
Filter for Human Resources openings at TSMC that are verified for visa sponsorship. Migrate Mate surfaces roles by sponsorship type, so you can identify which positions are open to H-1B or E-3 candidates before investing time in the application process.
Understand the LCA filing before negotiating your offer
Before USCIS can approve your H-1B petition, your employer must file a Labor Condition Application with DOL certifying your offered wage meets the prevailing wage for your HR role and work location. If TSMC is hiring you into a higher-cost region like Phoenix or San Jose, prevailing wages will differ significantly.
Prepare for a PERM timeline if targeting permanent residence
TSMC sponsors Green Cards for HR professionals through EB-2 or EB-3 pathways, which require PERM labor certification through DOL. This process typically takes 18 to 24 months before an I-140 petition can be filed, so raise the topic during offer negotiation, not after you start.

Find Human Resources at TSMC JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does TSMC sponsor H-1B visas for Human Resources?
Yes, TSMC sponsors H-1B visas for qualifying Human Resources roles. Eligibility depends on whether the specific position meets USCIS's specialty occupation standard, meaning the role must typically require a bachelor's degree or higher in a directly related field. HRBP, talent acquisition, and compensation specialist roles tend to qualify more readily than broad generalist titles.
How do I apply for Human Resources jobs at TSMC?
Apply directly through TSMC's careers portal. Before applying, use Migrate Mate to identify which open Human Resources roles at TSMC are verified for visa sponsorship, so you focus your effort on positions where sponsorship is a realistic outcome. Tailor your application to highlight experience supporting technical or manufacturing workforces, since that's where TSMC's HR demand is concentrated.
Which visa types does TSMC commonly use for Human Resources roles?
TSMC sponsors H-1B visas for most international HR hires, and E-3 visas for Australian citizens in qualifying specialty occupation roles. For HR professionals seeking permanent residence, TSMC supports EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card pathways through PERM labor certification filed with DOL. The visa type offered typically depends on your nationality, role level, and whether the position is deemed a specialty occupation.
What qualifications does TSMC look for in Human Resources candidates?
TSMC prioritizes HR professionals with experience supporting large-scale technical or engineering workforces. For HRBP roles, a background in organizational development within manufacturing or semiconductor environments is a clear differentiator. For talent acquisition roles, experience hiring engineers or fab technicians matters more than generalist recruiting history. A degree in human resources, industrial relations, or organizational psychology strengthens both your application and your H-1B specialty occupation case.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take for a TSMC Human Resources offer?
For H-1B sponsorship, the employer must first obtain a certified LCA from DOL, which typically takes seven to ten business days. USCIS standard processing for an H-1B petition then runs three to five months, or two to three weeks with premium processing. If you're currently on OPT, confirm your cap-gap or grace period coverage with your employer before the petition is filed.
