ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
You will:
- Own business-critical systems for taking low latency action in response to signals from Waymo’s fleet
- Develop Mapping Change Detection using a blend of ML and data analysis
- Build robust backend infrastructure and data processing that will scale with Waymo’s growth
- Make high-impact contributions across Waymo’s Mapping stack including infrastructure development, tooling improvements, and algorithm advances
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
You have:
- Backend engineer with experience building server-side infrastructure and data processing
- Solid coding skills (C++ preferred)

- Strong sense of ownership and ability to thrive in ambiguity
- Proven track record of being able to apply a broad range of skills to effectively solve business problems
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
We prefer:
- Experience applying ML and data analysis
- Master’s in Computer Science, Robotics or related field
COMPENSATION
The expected base salary range for this full-time position across US locations is listed below. Actual starting pay will be based on job-related factors, including exact work location, experience, relevant training and education, and skill level. - Salary Range: $204,000—$259,000 USD
Waymo employees are also eligible to participate in Waymo’s discretionary annual bonus program, equity incentive plan, and generous Company benefits program, subject to eligibility requirements.
