The platform’s ability to achieve its mission hinges entirely on the foundational tooling we build. We are not just responding to incidents; We are building the scalable operating system for all of Roblox’s Trust & Safety strategy. As a Senior Full-stack Engineer on the Safety Application pod within the Safety Experience, you will be instrumental in developing our in-house safety applications. This role emphasizes building intuitive, scalable, and AI-agentic-powered tooling for daily Roblox safety acts. If you are passionate about solving complex, high-impact problems in an adversarial landscape, this is the team for you. You will report to the Engineering Manager of the Safety Application Team.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
You Will
- Assume ownership of the complete lifecycle for full-stack features within Safety labeling and Investigative tooling, encompassing technical specification, implementation, rollout, monitoring, and iteration, ensuring alignment with the designated pod roadmap.
- Engage in close collaboration with Operations, Product Managers, and partner safety pods to translate ambiguous workflows and pain points into clear requirements and pragmatic technical designs, thoughtfully balancing immediate needs with long-term platformization objectives.
- Define the architectural direction for the next generation of safety applications, integrating Artificial Intelligence methodologies.
- Contribute to and maintain shared moderation primitives (e.g., Compliance, Quality Assurance, Traffic Routing, workforce management, and agentic AI labeling) to facilitate the streamlined onboarding of new safety surfaces by integrator teams.
- Take complete responsibility for projects throughout their entire lifecycle.
- Drive cross-functional engagement and lead technical initiatives to ensure the widespread adoption and success of our core safety applications.
- Report directly to the Engineering Manager of Safety Applications.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
You Have
- 5+ years of experience in software development.
- Distributed Systems Architecture: Proven ability to design and implement robust, high-throughput microservices (handling thousands of requests per second) while maintaining a strict focus on system safety and security.
- Full-Stack Proficiency: Experience with both front-end (e.g., React, Vue, Angular) and back-end technologies (e.g., Python, Java, Go) to deliver end-to-end features.
- Safety-Driven Mindset: A strong commitment to designing, implementing, and maintaining systems that prioritize user safety, data integrity, and compliance with safety policies.
- Equivalent experience or a BS in Computer Science, Applied Math, Physics, Engineering, Statistics, or another technical field.
- Curious to learn new technologies and systematically grow your skills.

COMPENSATION
For roles that are based at our headquarters in San Mateo, CA: The starting base pay for this position is as shown below. The actual base pay is dependent upon a variety of job-related factors such as professional background, training, work experience, location, business needs and market demand. Therefore, in some circumstances, the actual salary could fall outside of this expected range. This pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. All full-time employees are also eligible for equity compensation and for benefits as described on this page.
- Annual Salary Range: $196,750—$243,290 USD
