Align your credentials to drug delivery systems
West's pharmaceutical roles center on containment, delivery devices, and packaging science. A degree in pharmaceutical sciences, chemistry, or materials engineering maps directly to their core product lines and strengthens your petition under EB-2 or EB-3 specialty occupation criteria.
Document GMP experience before applying
West operates FDA-regulated manufacturing sites, so your resume should explicitly reference Good Manufacturing Practice environments, validation work, or regulatory submissions. USCIS scrutinizes whether prior experience genuinely supports the specialty occupation standard, and vague descriptions of lab work won't hold up.
Target roles that fit TN eligibility if Canadian or Mexican
West sponsors TN visas, and pharmaceutical scientists or chemists often qualify under TN's Scientist or Chemist categories without the lottery or PERM process. Confirm your specific job title maps cleanly to a listed TN profession before pursuing this route.
Use Migrate Mate to filter West's open pharmaceutical roles
West posts pharmaceutical openings across multiple sites and functions, making it easy to miss positions suited to your background. Migrate Mate filters West's live roles by visa sponsorship type so you can quickly identify which positions align with your OPT, TN, or EB pathway.
Clarify OPT cap-gap coverage during offer negotiation
If you're on F-1 OPT and your authorization expires before an H-1B takes effect, ask HR explicitly how West handles the cap-gap period. Confirm whether your offer letter acknowledges continued employment through October 1 of the H-1B fiscal year so there's no ambiguity at the start date.
Prepare PERM documentation early for EB-2 or EB-3 paths
West's EB-2 and EB-3 sponsorship requires a completed PERM labor certification through DOL before the immigrant petition can advance. Gather your foreign educational transcripts, any required credential evaluations, and prior employer verification letters well before your employer initiates the recruitment period.

Find Pharmaceutical at West Pharmaceutical Services JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does West Pharmaceutical Services sponsor H-1B visas for Pharmaceuticals?
West Pharmaceutical Services does not currently appear among active H-1B sponsors for pharmaceutical roles based on available DOL disclosure data. The company primarily sponsors EB-2, EB-3, TN, and F-1 OPT and CPT for this function. If H-1B sponsorship is a priority for you, confirm the current position's eligibility directly with West's HR or talent acquisition team before advancing through interviews.
Which visa types are commonly used for Pharmaceutical roles at West Pharmaceutical Services?
West Pharmaceutical Services sponsors F-1 OPT and CPT for recent graduates entering pharmaceutical roles, TN visas for qualified Canadian and Mexican nationals in scientific or chemistry-aligned positions, and EB-2 or EB-3 immigrant visa pathways for longer-term sponsorship. The right category depends on your nationality, degree level, and the specific job title offered.
What qualifications or experience are expected for Pharmaceutical roles at West?
Most pharmaceutical positions at West require a bachelor's degree or higher in pharmaceutical sciences, chemistry, biochemistry, or a related field. Roles in quality, manufacturing, and regulatory affairs often expect hands-on experience in GMP environments, knowledge of FDA submission processes, or familiarity with drug-device combination products, which is central to West's business.
How do I apply for Pharmaceutical jobs at West Pharmaceutical Services?
You can browse West's open pharmaceutical roles through Migrate Mate, which filters positions by visa sponsorship type so you can identify which openings match your work authorization. From there, apply directly through West's careers portal. Tailor your application to highlight relevant pharmaceutical manufacturing, quality, or regulatory experience, and reference any GMP or validation credentials prominently.
How do I understand the timeline for EB-2 or EB-3 sponsorship at West Pharmaceutical Services?
EB-2 and EB-3 sponsorship through West begins with a PERM labor certification filed with DOL, which typically takes six months to over a year before the immigrant petition stage. After PERM approval, West files Form I-140 with USCIS. Priority date backlogs, particularly for Indian nationals, can extend the overall Green Card timeline significantly beyond those initial steps.
