Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding Social Work Jobs at Woods Services Jobs
Verify your licensure meets state requirements
Pennsylvania requires a state-issued social work license for most clinical roles. Confirm your credentials transfer or that you can sit for the LCSW exam before applying, since Woods Services typically expects licensure-ready candidates for direct client-facing positions.
Target roles matching your LCA wage tier
Your employer files a Labor Condition Application with DOL certifying your wage meets the prevailing rate. For social work roles at Woods Services, the offered salary must align with the wage level DOL assigns to your specific position and region.
Align your application to disability and behavioral health experience
Woods Services serves adults and children with intellectual disabilities and behavioral health needs. Applications that highlight direct clinical experience in these populations, not just general social work, move faster through their hiring process.
Use Migrate Mate to surface open roles with sponsorship
Social Work openings at Woods Services don't always signal visa sponsorship in the job post itself. Use Migrate Mate to filter roles by confirmed sponsor status so you're only applying where international candidates are genuinely considered.
Understand OPT timing before your start date
If you're on F-1 OPT, social work qualifies as STEM-adjacent in some classifications but not all. Confirm your SOC code with your Designated School Official early, since the 60-day unemployment limit applies even while you're actively interviewing.
Prepare documentation supporting your specialty occupation case
USCIS requires evidence that your social work role qualifies as a specialty occupation for H-1B approval. Gather your degree transcripts, any equivalency evaluations, and a detailed offer letter that ties your degree field directly to the clinical duties of the role.

Find Social Work at Woods Services JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Woods Services sponsor H-1B visas for Social Workers?
Yes, Woods Services has sponsored H-1B visas for Social Work roles. Sponsorship is more likely for clinical positions where a specific degree in social work, psychology, or a related field is a stated requirement. Your role must qualify as a specialty occupation under USCIS standards, meaning a bachelor's degree or higher in a specific field is the normal minimum for entry into that position.
How do I apply for Social Work jobs at Woods Services?
Apply directly through the Woods Services careers portal, where roles are listed by location and program type. Tailor your application to highlight clinical experience with individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities. If you need visa sponsorship, confirm the role supports it before applying. Migrate Mate lets you browse Woods Services social work openings filtered by sponsorship eligibility so you don't waste applications on roles that won't support your visa.
Which visa types are commonly used for Social Work roles at Woods Services?
Woods Services has sponsored H-1B visas for Social Work positions and has also hired candidates on F-1 OPT and F-1 CPT, making it accessible for recent graduates in qualifying social work or behavioral health degree programs. TN visas are available for Canadian and Mexican nationals in social worker classifications. The right visa depends on your nationality, degree field, and whether you're already in the U.S. on a student status.
What qualifications and experience does Woods Services expect for Social Work roles?
Most clinical social work positions at Woods Services require at minimum a bachelor's degree in social work or a related behavioral health field, with many roles requiring a master's degree for licensure-track positions. Direct experience supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities, autism, or behavioral health conditions is strongly preferred. Pennsylvania state licensure, or eligibility to obtain it, is expected for roles involving clinical supervision or independent case management.
How do I time my H-1B filing if I receive an offer from Woods Services?
H-1B cap-subject petitions can only be filed once per year, with registration opening in March and employment starting no earlier than October 1. If you receive an offer, your employer must file the LCA with DOL first, then submit the H-1B petition to USCIS after lottery selection. If you're on OPT when you receive the offer, cap-gap protections may extend your work authorization through the October start date if your OPT expires in between.
