Verify Your Nursing License Before Applying
State licensure is a hard requirement before Woods Services can extend an offer. If your credentials were earned abroad, start the CGFNS or NCLEX pathway early. Delays in licensure endorsement are the most common reason nursing offers stall.
Target Roles Matching Your Clinical Specialty
Woods Services supports populations with intellectual and developmental disabilities, so experience in behavioral health, psychiatric nursing, or long-term care strengthens your application. Align your resume to the specific patient population, not just your general nursing background.
Browse Open Nursing Positions Through Migrate Mate
Use Migrate Mate to filter Woods Services nursing openings by visa sponsorship type, including H-1B and TN. This saves time screening postings that don't support your specific visa situation before you invest in a full application.
Understand How TN Status Applies to Nursing
If you hold Canadian or Mexican citizenship, TN status covers Registered Nurses and can be processed at a port of entry without waiting for USCIS adjudication. Confirm with your prospective supervisor that your role title aligns with the TN nurse classification before your start date.
Ask HR About the H-1B Filing Timeline Early
H-1B cap-subject petitions have an April 1 filing window with an October 1 start date. If you receive an offer after April, work with Woods Services HR to determine whether you qualify for a cap-exempt hospital or nonprofit pathway, which can allow off-cycle filing.
Prepare Documentation for Specialty Occupation Support
USCIS scrutinizes nursing H-1B petitions closely because the role must meet specialty occupation criteria. Request a detailed offer letter that specifies degree requirements, care complexity, and any advanced practice or supervisory duties that distinguish the position from general floor nursing.

Find Nursing at Woods Services JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Woods Services sponsor H-1B visas for Nurses?
Yes, Woods Services sponsors H-1B visas for qualified nursing candidates. Because nursing petitions require demonstrating specialty occupation status, your offer letter and job duties documentation need to clearly reflect a role requiring at minimum a bachelor's degree in nursing. Working closely with the HR team during the offer stage helps ensure the petition is positioned correctly with USCIS.
How do I apply for Nursing jobs at Woods Services?
Start by browsing current nursing openings through Migrate Mate, where you can filter specifically for Woods Services positions that offer visa sponsorship. Once you identify a relevant role, apply directly through the company's careers portal and note your visa sponsorship needs in your application. Follow up with the HR recruiter to confirm sponsorship eligibility before investing time in additional screening rounds.
Which visa types does Woods Services commonly use for Nursing roles?
Woods Services has sponsored H-1B visas for nursing hires and also supports F-1 OPT and F-1 CPT for candidates finishing U.S.-based nursing programs. TN status is available if you're a Canadian or Mexican citizen working as a Registered Nurse. Each pathway has different timing and documentation requirements, so clarifying which applies to your situation before the offer stage avoids delays.
What qualifications does Woods Services expect for Nursing candidates requiring sponsorship?
Woods Services primarily serves individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, behavioral health needs, and complex medical conditions. Candidates with clinical experience in psychiatric nursing, developmental disabilities care, or long-term care settings are well-positioned. Active licensure in the relevant state is required before an offer can proceed, and for H-1B purposes, a bachelor's degree in nursing is the baseline credential USCIS expects.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take for a Nursing offer at Woods Services?
Timeline depends on visa type. TN status for Canadian citizens can be approved at the border in a single day. H-1B standard processing through USCIS currently runs several months, with the cap-subject window opening each April for an October start. F-1 OPT authorization through your Designated School Official typically takes up to 90 days, so apply to USCIS well before your program end date.
