JOB DETAILS
Responsibilities:
As a Permanent Sr. Estimator - Mechanical/Plumbing, you will be responsible for:
- Preparing detailed cost estimates for mechanical and plumbing construction projects, including materials, labor, equipment, and services.
- Analyzing blueprints, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, and labor estimates for products, projects, or services.
- Conducting special studies to develop and establish standard hour and related cost data or to effect cost reduction.
- Reviewing material and labor requirements to decide whether it is more cost-effective to produce or purchase components.
- Collaborating with contractors, architects, and engineers to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues.
- Consulting with clients, vendors, or other individuals to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues.
- Assisting in the preparation of bidding documents, including developing bid strategies and packages.
- Evaluating and managing the pre-construction and construction stages of a project.
- Coordinating with the project management team to monitor job progress and adjust estimates as necessary.
QUALIFICATIONS
To be considered for the Permanent Sr. Estimator - Mechanical/Plumbing role, you must possess the following:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical/plumbing estimating in the construction industry.
- Proficient knowledge of estimating techniques, cost control, and material pricing required.
- Experience with MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) systems is a must.
- Familiarity with HVAC systems, piping, and other related mechanical systems.
- Strong understanding of construction drawings and the ability to interpret them accurately.
- Proven ability to prepare and present estimates and bids effectively.
- Strong analytical, strategic, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in using estimating software and computer programs.
