Overview
The Regional PREA Compliance Manager positions involve supervisory work site to ensure PREA Compliance. Managers work with facilities to supervise compliance with the federal PREA Standards.
Duties involve work to ensure department compliance with the federal PREA standards. This includes audit preparation, and training delivers to department staff and contractors as appropriate.
Considerable knowledge of the federal PREA standards, knowledge and experience with correctional systems, conducting audits, conducting investigations, and training. Considerable organization skills and the ability to conduct audits and produce recommendations to ensure compliance to standards.
This position reports to the PREA and Constituent Services Unit Director at Central Office. The positions will be located out of central office. The position will involve travel and will spend considerable time at their assigned facilities. Opportunities to telework when appropriate. There are two positions. Each position will be responsible for three assigned Corrections Facilities. The duties and geographic locations will be split accordingly.

Environmental Factors
This position is based in a professional office setting but also works at all DOC work locations. Travel to field offices, correctional facilities, and other administrative offices. This position requires the incumbent to be exposed to extreme levels of vicarious and secondary trauma. Frequent exposure to cases involving rape, sexual misconduct, physical violence, and the trauma associated.
Minimum Qualifications
High School graduation or equivalent AND EITHER three (3) years or more of experience in a role assigned to work in a human service setting on a full-time basis OR three (3) years or more in a protective services or correctional setting.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a human services, criminal justice or related field.
Special Requirements
Candidates must pass any level of background investigation applicable to the position. In accordance with AHS Policy 4.02, Hiring Standards, Vermont and/or national criminal record checks, as well as DMV and adult and child abuse registry checks, as appropriate to the position under recruitment, will be conducted on candidates, except for those who are current classified state employees seeking transfer, promotion or demotion into an AHS classified position or are persons exercising re-employment (RIF) rights.
Special Note: Possession of a valid driver's license is required, and a criminal background check will be performed prior to hire. Certain convictions can be disqualifying.
