INTRODUCTION
This role is at Spirit AeroSystems, Inc. a wholly owned subsidiary of The Boeing Company, supporting Spirit’s Commercial Business Units (“Spirit Commercial”). Spirit Commercial designs and builds commercial aerostructures, including for Boeing Commercial Airplanes, one of Boeing’s three business units and the premier manufacturer of commercial jetliners for decades. Spirit Commercial’s core products include fuselages, pylons, nacelles and wing components, with a focus on innovative composite and aluminium manufacturing solutions.
LOCATION: Tulsa, OK
Responsibilities:
- Move and/or obtain correct parts, materials, and tools, as necessary within the employee's assignment as directed by management.
- Use of all precision measuring instruments required to accomplish work assignments.
- Capable of accessing and navigating electronic systems as required by the position program, and/or company. Company will provide training as required in a timely manner.
- Works safely and maintains a safe work environment adhering to established company safety requirements.
- Train, coach and/or assist fellow employees as requested or required by the company.
- Maintain and utilize required personal certifications and qualifications as directed by the company to perform job assignments.
- Ensure equipment and tool certification occurs per procedure.
- Report job handicaps such as: errors in parts, procedures, tools, sequences, etc.
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings manuals, specifications and job orders to determine material requirements and the methods and sequence of operations to perform maintenance carpentry and painting and/or the fabrication, assembly, packaging and loading of shipping containers.
- Set up and operate hand and power wood working equipment or tools to perform such operations as drilling, sawing, planning, joining, routing and sanding.
- Assemble parts in accordance with furnished layouts, sketches, jig locations, or by following verbal instructions.
- Build sheds, storage bins, scaffolding, platforms, and floors, shelves, partitions and benches and perform finish carpentry on such items as office doors, windows, wooden furniture and equipment.
- Install hardware such as hinges, locks, plates, knobs and casters to wooden items and structures.
- Rework and repair office equipment, floors and window blinds, drafting tables, cabinets and other related items.
- Fabricate, assemble and finish such office and shop equipment as frames, filing boxes, book stands, shelves and cardboard and wooden boxes, crates and shipping containers, including those where deviation from standard sizes and shapes may be required.
- Hand and spray paint factory and office building, areas, equipment and furniture, rolling stock and equipment. Mix, blend and match paint to proper color and consistency and when necessary set up scaffolding and rigging.
- Apply prime and finish coats to office furniture, office interiors, heavy machinery, and power and lift trucks, jigs, holding fixtures and dollies. Hand rub down and mirror finish office furniture.
- Hang wallpaper, pictures, mount maps on walls and paint original guidelines that define area limits, walks and roadways.
- Block, tie down, brace, pad, and strap or otherwise secure contents in freight carriers, cars or trucks.
- Cut and apply stencils and exterior markings.
- Record carpentry, painting and crating and packing data and statistics manually or with the aid of a computer or computer-based system.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):
- Must be able to work any shift.
- Must be able to lift up to 48 pounds.

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
Summary Pay Range: $18.00/hour, with potential to earn up to $30.09/hour in accordance with the terms of the relevant collective bargaining agreement.
