System & Network Administrator
Position Overview
Total Mortgage is seeking a highly skilled System & Network Administrator to support and manage our hybrid IT environment across on-premises infrastructure and cloud platforms. This role is responsible for maintaining reliable, secure, and efficient systems, with a strong emphasis on Ubiquiti UniFi networking, virtualization platforms, Windows/Linux systems, and Microsoft 365 / Entra ID / Azure.
You will play a critical role in both day-to-day operations and long-term infrastructure improvements, working closely with internal teams and external vendors.
Key Responsibilities
Infrastructure & Systems Administration
- Manage and maintain Windows Server and Linux systems, including patching, performance tuning, and troubleshooting
- Administer virtual environments (VMware, Hyper-V, or similar), including provisioning, monitoring, and optimization
- Perform user and group management, permissions administration, and Group Policy configuration
- Install, configure, and maintain file shares, multi-user applications, and other networked resources
Network Administration (UniFi Focus)
- Design, configure, and manage Ubiquiti UniFi network infrastructure, including:
+ Gateways, switches, and wireless access points
+ VLANs, VPNs, and firewall rules
- Monitor network performance, availability, and security
- Troubleshoot connectivity issues across LAN/WAN environments
- Maintain routers, switches, firewalls, access points, printers, and VoIP systems
Cloud & Identity (Microsoft 365 / Azure / Entra)
- Administer Microsoft 365 services (Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams)
- Manage Entra ID (Azure AD) including identity lifecycle, Conditional Access, and MFA
- Support Azure infrastructure and hybrid integrations
- Implement and maintain security controls including access policies and device compliance
Security, Compliance & Cybersecurity Auditing
- Perform and support cybersecurity and compliance audits across systems, networks, and cloud platforms
- Conduct and document disaster recovery (DR) planning and testing, including backup validation and recovery exercises
- Assist with or coordinate penetration testing and vulnerability assessments, ensuring timely remediation
- Monitor systems for adherence to security policies, standards, and regulatory requirements
- Participate in risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies
- Maintain audit documentation and provide evidence for internal/external reviews
- Support and improve security posture, identifying gaps and implementing corrective actions
- Assist in responding to security incidents, including account compromise or network intrusion
Support & Operations
- Provide Tier 2/3 technical support in coordination with helpdesk teams
- Troubleshoot complex issues across systems, networks, and cloud environments
- Partner with vendors for installations, upgrades, and escalations
Documentation & Continuous Improvement
- Create and maintain documentation including:
+ Network diagrams and configurations
+ System architecture and standard operating procedures
- Assist in infrastructure design, improvements, and scalability planning
- Research and recommend new technologies, tools, and best practices
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in system and network administration
- Hands-on experience with Ubiquiti UniFi networking solutions
- Strong knowledge of:
+ Windows Server environments
+ Linux system administration
+ Virtualization platforms (Xen, Hyper-V, or similar)
- Experience managing Microsoft 365 and Entra ID (Azure AD)
- Solid understanding of:
+ Networking fundamentals (DNS, DHCP, VLANs, VPNs, routing)
+ Security concepts and access control models
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Microsoft Azure (IaaS/PaaS)
- Familiarity with PowerShell, Bash, or other scripting/automation tools
- Experience with backup and disaster recovery solutions
- Knowledge of endpoint management (Intune or similar)
- Exposure to compliance frameworks such as SOC 2, NIST, or CIS benchmarks
- Relevant certifications (Microsoft, CompTIA, or networking certifications)
Key Skills
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical thinking skills
- Excellent documentation and organizational abilities
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Clear communication with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Hours for position:
M-F 9am-5pm
This position may require frequent additional hours, at times on a daily basis; must be available to work additional hours on short notice as determined by management to meet customer service requirements.
