Job Summary:
Oversees the System Security Technology Program to ensure proper management, operation, maintenance, and standardization of all IT-based security systems. Writes standards and requirements for the System Technology Program and ensures regional compliance with SSM Health and Security departmental policies, as well as any federal, state, local, or other jurisdictional agency regulations. Develops and manages a proactive long-term strategy for security technology system replacements, upgrades, and updates based on system age and/or technological evolution. Maintains close working relationships with SSM Health Integrated Health Technologies and service providers in order to maintain compliance within the SSM Health network. Writes capital proposals and/or assists regional security leaders in vying for capital for enterprise and/or regional security projects. Manages System and Regional security technology projects.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES AND REQUIREMENTS
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develops and manages short and long-term capital strategy for access control, video management, infant abduction, body worn camera, elopement, panic alarm, radio, and other System and Regional security technologies.
- Develops and manages short and long-term capital and ongoing operational cost forecasting for Security applications, PC operating systems, PC hardware/software, servers/server software, and related peripherals.
- Manages respective Regional Security Technology Analysts (STA) to ensure security technology standards are followed, projects are managed effectively, timelines are met, and best practice is shared consistently.
- Works directly with Sourcing in order to leverage cost savings for enterprise security technology applications and hardware.
- Coordinates with Facilities and Planning, Design and Construction Regional and System Leaders to oversee large projects and assist with budgeting and review of technical documents.
- Develops system wide installation standards for security technology equipment to ensure contractors install equipment correctly.
- Develops project approval checklist so that all security technology installations are properly checked before acceptance.
- Remains educated with new trends and developments in the security device/equipment market place. Assesses, evaluates, and makes recommendations to System and Regional security leaders as a Subject Matter Expert.
- Performs periodic audits/reviews/hazard vulnerability analysis of security devices/equipment for evaluation of performance gaps, specifications, and expectations as directed by System and Regional Security Leadership and/or Integrated Health Technology leadership.
- Knowledge and support of Active Directory tools including, but not limited to: group membership, creating groups, running scripts to move users, running scripts to create generic IDs, running scripts to set auto logon & lock down accounts to specific computer, basic understanding of GPO’s and software deployment, granting access to folders on computer for special software; creating new file shares & granting rights appropriately.
- Required to use the SSM standard tracking system for incident and statistical reporting, change control items projects and requests. Communicates outstanding issues and status updates through appropriate channels, escalating unresolved issues when necessary. Maintains all hardware and software updates and upgrades in accordance with SSM IHT change control.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Education
- Associate's degree or higher in electrical engineering technologies or similar field.
Experience
- Six years' experience, as a systems technician.
