Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding TN Visa Sponsorship as a Digital Media Buyer
Align your degree to the right TN category
Digital Media Buyer roles can file under Management Consultant or Computer Systems Analyst depending on the employer's job description. Pull your transcripts and map your degree field to the category before your employer drafts the support letter.
Request a narrowly scoped offer letter
CBP officers scrutinize whether your duties match the TN category precisely. Ask your employer to define your role around data analysis, programmatic strategy, or campaign optimization rather than general marketing, which CBP may reject as a non-qualifying occupation.
Target employers with in-house programmatic teams
Agencies and media companies with dedicated programmatic or performance marketing desks are accustomed to scoping Digital Media Buyer roles in ways that satisfy TN requirements. These teams already know which job duties hold up under CBP scrutiny.
Use Migrate Mate to find TN-ready employers
Search Migrate Mate to identify Digital Media Buyer openings at companies that have sponsored TN visas before. Filtering by sponsorship history saves you from pitching employers who have never navigated TN documentation for this role type.
Prepare a credential evaluation before interviewing
If your Canadian or Mexican university degree is in a field adjacent to marketing or communications, a credential evaluation from a NACES-approved evaluator confirms U.S. equivalency and strengthens your TN support package before the offer stage.
Understand how Mexican citizens must file differently
Unlike Canadian citizens who apply directly at a port of entry, Mexican nationals must schedule a consular appointment and receive TN approval before entering the U.S. for work. Build at least four to six weeks of lead time into your start date negotiation.

Find Digital Media Buyer JobsDigital Media Buyer TN Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
Does a Digital Media Buyer role qualify for a TN visa?
It depends on how the role is scoped. Digital Media Buyer isn't a named TN occupation, but CBP accepts petitions under Management Consultant or Computer Systems Analyst when duties center on data analysis, programmatic strategy, or campaign optimization. A job description focused on general advertising coordination is less likely to qualify, so the offer letter language matters significantly.
How does the TN visa compare to H-1B for Digital Media Buyer roles?
TN has no lottery and no annual cap for Canadian citizens, meaning you can apply and start work within days of a qualifying offer. H-1B requires surviving a random lottery in April before work authorization begins in October. The tradeoff is that TN requires closer alignment between your degree, the job duties, and an approved occupation category, which H-1B does not require in the same way.
What documents does my employer need to provide for my TN application?
Your employer must provide a support letter on company letterhead that specifies the TN category being claimed, a description of your duties, your credentials, your anticipated start date, and your compensation structure. The letter doesn't need to be filed in advance for Canadian applicants, but it must be thorough enough for a CBP officer to assess at the port of entry.
Where can I find Digital Media Buyer jobs that offer TN visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate lets you search specifically for Digital Media Buyer roles at employers with recent visa filings, filtering out positions where sponsorship is unlikely. This is faster than applying broadly and discovering late in the process that a company's HR team has never handled work visa sponsorship for a marketing or media role.
Can a Digital Media Buyer on a TN visa change employers mid-year?
Yes. TN status is employer-specific, so you'd need a new TN authorization tied to the new employer before your start date. Canadian citizens can obtain this at a port of entry with the new employer's support letter. Mexican citizens must complete a new consular appointment. There's no requirement to wait for a fiscal year cycle the way H-1B transfers sometimes necessitate.
