Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding TN Visa Sponsorship as a Solution Manager
Align your credentials to Management Consultant
TN visa approval for Solution Managers depends on fitting the Management Consultant occupational category. A bachelor's degree in business, information systems, or a related field strengthens the classification argument. Collect official transcripts before starting your job search.
Target employers with recent visa filing experience
Prioritize companies with recent visa filings in IT consulting, enterprise software, and professional services. These employers have demonstrated experience with work visa sponsorship and understand the support letter requirements for roles like Solution Manager—meaning they're equipped to handle the TN visa process efficiently, including preparing the necessary employer documentation for border or consulate presentation.
Request a project-scoped offer letter from your employer
CBP officers evaluate whether your duties are genuinely consultative. An offer letter that outlines specific client engagements, deliverables, and the consulting nature of the role is stronger than a generic job description listing internal management tasks.
Search TN-sponsored Solution Manager jobs through Migrate Mate
Use Migrate Mate to filter Solution Manager openings by TN visa sponsorship status. The platform surfaces employers already set up to sponsor, so you spend time pursuing real opportunities instead of screening out companies unfamiliar with USMCA work authorization.
Prepare for the port-of-entry review as a Canadian
Canadians apply for TN status directly with CBP at a land border or airport, without a prior visa stamp. Bring your offer letter, degree credentials, and a brief written description of your consulting duties. CBP can approve or deny on the spot.
Book your Mexican consular appointment before accepting an offer
Mexican nationals need a TN visa stamp from a U.S. consulate before starting work. Consular wait times vary by post, so schedule your DS-160 appointment immediately after your offer is confirmed to avoid gaps between your start date and authorization.

Find Solution Manager JobsSolution Manager TN Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
Does a Solution Manager role qualify for TN visa status?
Yes, if your duties are primarily consultative. CBP classifies Solution Managers under the Management Consultant TN category. The role must involve advising clients or internal stakeholders on systems, processes, or organizational solutions rather than managing staff as a core function. An offer letter that describes your scope of consulting work is the key supporting document.
How does TN visa sponsorship for Solution Managers compare to H-1B?
TN has no annual cap for Canadians and no lottery, so you can start work in weeks rather than waiting years for an H-1B slot. The tradeoff is that TN status requires ongoing employer sponsorship and doesn't directly lead to permanent residence. H-1B allows dual intent toward a green card; TN does not, which matters if long-term immigration is your goal.
What documents does my employer need to provide for TN sponsorship?
Your employer needs to provide a detailed offer letter on company letterhead that describes your job title, the consultative nature of your duties, your qualifications, your work location, and the duration of the engagement. CBP does not require a pre-filed petition for TN status, but the offer letter effectively substitutes for one and must be thorough.
Where can Canadian and Mexican professionals find Solution Manager jobs with TN sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for USMCA professionals seeking TN-sponsored roles. You can search Solution Manager openings filtered by TN visa sponsorship, which removes the friction of reaching out to companies that don't support this visa category. That focus on pre-screened sponsoring employers saves significant time during the job search.
Can I renew my TN status if my Solution Manager contract is extended?
Yes. TN status is granted in up to three-year increments and can be renewed indefinitely as long as you maintain a qualifying job offer and your duties remain consultative. Each renewal requires a new offer letter or amended contract. Canadians renew at the port of entry; Mexican nationals renew through a U.S. consulate or USCIS if already inside the country.
