ABOUT THE JOB
Southeastern Louisiana University's Department of Student Support Services invites applications for the position of Transition Student Advisor. Provides academic, career and financial aid assistance for SSS FR/SO participants.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university. Two (2) years of full time work experience.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Preference given for candidates with a bachelor's degree in Education, Counseling, Social Work, or Psychology.
DESIRED KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES AND SKILLS
Effective interpersonal skills that will allow the applicant to relate to the complex educational and personal needs of low-income, first generation participants and students with disabilities. Professional ethics related to position. Ability to present information to students in a positive, energetic, professional and motivational manner. Effective oral/written communication and organizational skills required. Ability to use computer-based technology to complete tasks.
Ability to plan, create, publish and share content on social media.
