Which companies sponsor visas for contract administrators in North Dakota?
Basin Electric Power Cooperative, MDU Resources Group, and Meridian Energy Group are among the larger North Dakota employers with a track record of H-1B sponsorship in professional and administrative roles. Federal contractors operating near Minot Air Force Base and Grand Forks Air Force Base also hire contract administrators and have sponsored work visas, particularly for roles requiring specialized procurement or compliance expertise.
Which visa types are most common for contract administrator roles in North Dakota?
The H-1B is the most common visa for contract administrators in North Dakota, as the role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring a bachelor's degree in business, supply chain, construction management, or a related field. The TN visa is an option for Canadian and Mexican nationals with qualifying credentials. Employers in the energy and construction sectors occasionally support EB-2 or EB-3 green card pathways for long-term hires.
Which cities in North Dakota have the most contract administrator sponsorship jobs?
Bismarck, the state capital, has the highest concentration of contract administrator opportunities due to state government contracting activity and energy sector headquarters. Fargo follows closely, driven by its larger corporate base and proximity to regional logistics and construction firms. Williston sees periodic demand tied to oil and gas project contracting, while Grand Forks and Minot see activity connected to federal and defense-related contracting.
How to find contract administrator visa sponsorship jobs in North Dakota?
Migrate Mate is the most direct way to find contract administrator roles in North Dakota where employers are open to visa sponsorship. You can filter specifically by state and job title to surface relevant openings in sectors like energy, construction, and government contracting. Because North Dakota's market is smaller than coastal states, filtering precisely by role and location on Migrate Mate helps avoid irrelevant results and surface verified sponsoring employers.
Are there any state-specific considerations for contract administrators seeking sponsorship in North Dakota?
North Dakota's economy is heavily tied to energy extraction, agriculture, and federal defense contracts, so contract administrator roles here often involve procurement and compliance expertise specific to those industries. The Department of Labor's prevailing wage requirements apply statewide for H-1B petitions, and wages in Bismarck and Fargo may differ from those in smaller markets like Williston. North Dakota State University and the University of North Dakota produce local business graduates, but international candidates with specialized energy or government contracting experience remain competitive.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored contract administrator jobs in North Dakota?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
