Who will you be working with?
You will interact with team members within Wabtec across all levels of the organization. You will oversee a talented group of team members responsible for inventory and logistics.
How will you make a difference?
You will supervise and coordinate daily operation of the production shift with responsibility for achieving maximum quality and cost effectiveness in an on-time and efficient manner. In this role, you will be responsible for all Inbound and Outbound shipping and receiving services.
What will your typical day look like?
- Manages and controls the profitable flow of materials into and through the plant.
- Serves as leadership for the Inventory Control team including training, developing, and supervising team members in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
- Implements and manages inventory tracking systems including resolving any discrepancies and implementing corrective actions.
- Analyzes inventory data to identify trends and areas of continuous improvement opportunities in accordance with Wabtec best practices.
- Calculates inventory metrics by set deadlines. Conducts inventory value analysis, including statistical trends and variances.
- Prepares and presents inventory reports and action plans for management review.
- Monitors and offers guidance on inventory transactions to ensure proper adherence to ISO procedures and guidelines.
- Conducts and is responsible for physical inventory and cycle counting, including corrective action, root cause analysis, and implementation of improvements to minimize variances.
- Manages excess inventory controls in accordance with Wabtec policy.
- Monitors all general scrap transactions, creates trends and action plans for improvement.
- Develop and perform routine analysis to predict potential inventory problems.
- Collaborate with procurement, planning, and warehouse teams to streamline processes and material flow.
You may also be asked to perform other duties outside of your function or trade, for which adequate training will be provided if necessary. Qualifications
What do we want to know about you?
- Do you have comprehensive knowledge of systems driven Material/Inventory control using MRP systems?
- Do you have 8 years of experience in a manufacturing/production environment, preferably in a process-oriented related industry?
- Do you have 5 years of experience in the inventory management field?
- Do your computer skills include Microsoft Office applications, database/spreadsheet and MRP software (preferably Oracle)?
- Do you have a Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, similar inventory related discipline, or equivalent working experience in inventory management?
- Do you have a professional certification by the American Production and Inventory Control Society (APICS), a Certified Production and Inventory Management (CPIM), or Project Management (PMP,PMI-ACP, CAPM) (preferred)?
- Do you have comprehensive knowledge of modern Lean Manufacturing and production concepts and inventory practices with complex mixed model factories (preferred)?
- Do you have strong organizational and time-management skills?
- Do you have strong analytical, statistical, and reasoning ability for problem solving strategic planning, creativity/innovation, and judgment for complex decisions?
- Are you a highly motivated, self-starter capable of working and delivering results on own initiative?

Our job titles may span more than one career level. The salary rate for this role is currently $79100-112800. The actual salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, education, business needs, market demands and work location. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. More information on offered benefits, which include health, welfare, and retirement, are available at mywabtecbenefits.com.
