JOB SUMMARY
The Group Exercise/Personal Trainer at North Mississippi Health Services is responsible for providing a great Wellness Center experience for members by leading safe and engaging group fitness classes. This role requires CPR certification and engages strong wellness knowledge and excellent communication skills to provide high quality customer service, manage group fitness classes effectively, and motivate Wellness Center members to engage and enjoy the Wellness Center experience.
JOB FUNCTIONS
- Ensures excellent customer service by providing quality group exercise classes to the members.
- Takes responsibility for the safety, security and well-being of class members.
- Possesses ability to identify and handle emergencies.
- Maintains updated, proficient teaching skills that are motivating, challenging, safe and enjoyable.
- Supports other coworkers by attending their classes and substituting when possible.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education
- High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
Licenses and Certifications
- BCLS - Basic Life Support
Work Experience
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
- Must have knowledge and skills needed to serve a variety of populations.
- Must have the communication and organizational skills essential to lead a class.
- Must plan appropriate classes for the population.
- Must represent the Wellness Center at all times.
- Must have close physical contact with students and must have the ability to interact in a professional and caring manner.
- Must be able to lead groups and provide individual assistance.
- Must have excellent interpersonal skills.
- Must have a positive attitude to promote member satisfaction and retention.
