Aws Data Engineer Jobs in Delaware: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a aws data engineer in Delaware?
There is no state-issued license required to work as an aws data engineer in Delaware. Most employers in the state expect a bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or engineering, combined with hands-on AWS experience. Earning AWS certifications such as the AWS Certified Data Engineer or AWS Certified Solutions Architect strengthens a candidate's profile significantly. Delaware's financial services and healthcare sectors favor candidates who can demonstrate experience with secure, compliant data architectures from day one.
How much do aws data engineers make in Delaware?
Aws data engineers in Delaware earn a median of about $147,800 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $83,370 for the lowest 10% to over $160,860 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire aws data engineers in Delaware?
Companies currently hiring aws data engineers in Delaware include JPMorganChase and Continental Finance Company, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Delaware's concentration of financial institutions and life sciences firms means many of these openings sit within regulated industries where data security and cloud compliance experience carries extra weight.
Which Delaware cities have the most aws data engineer jobs?
The cities with the most aws data engineer openings in Delaware are Wilmington and Newark. Wilmington leads because it is home to the headquarters and major operations of several large banks and financial technology firms, while Newark benefits from the University of Delaware's research ecosystem and the technology campuses that have grown around it, and Dover draws demand from state government and healthcare organizations.
Are there remote aws data engineer jobs in Delaware?
Yes, and more than most fields. About 50% of aws data engineer openings tied to Delaware are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting how naturally suited cloud data engineering is to distributed work. The tasks most commonly done remotely include pipeline development, infrastructure provisioning, and code review, while on-site presence is more often expected during onboarding or for roles embedded in regulated financial environments.
How can I get hired as a aws data engineer in Delaware with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is moving laterally from a data analyst or SQL developer role, which many Delaware financial services and healthcare employers treat as a direct feeder into data engineering teams. Large Delaware employers like JPMorgan Chase and Nemours hire for associate data or cloud operations roles that do not require prior engineering titles. Building a portfolio of AWS projects, earning the AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner credential, and contributing to open-source data pipeline work gives candidates a concrete edge when applying to these entry-level openings.
Where can I find and apply to aws data engineer jobs in Delaware?
You can find and apply to aws data engineer jobs in Delaware on Migrate Mate, which lists current Delaware openings updated in real time. Search the available roles by location or specialty, find the ones that match your background, and apply directly to the employer.
