Job Summary:
Location: Methodist Corporate Office
Address: 825 S 169th St. - Omaha, NE
Work Schedule: Mon - Fri, 7:30am to 4:00pm; on call typically 4-5 times/year
Provides maintenance and support of the user experience for the clinical information systems.
Responsibilities:
Essential Functions

Evaluates/enhances the user experience of clinical information systems.

Provides one on one at the elbow/remote support for all users.
- Supports end users during application implementations.
- Ensures data privacy, confidentiality and security.
- Acts as a liaison between end users and IT.
- Evaluates end user interaction with computer hardware and use of applications.
- Collects data to evaluate proposed system changes to maximize efficiency and safety.
- Conducts audits of system output.
- Communication/collaboration with all Health System affiliates to ensure integration.

Facilitates/participates in Informatics councils for system change input/analysis.

Prioritizes and coordinates with IT to maintain existing system via change requests.

Collects specifications for changes from end user.
- Prepares/maintains change source documents in accordance with auditor requirements.
- Processes change requests to IT via established procedures.
- Provide status updates to requesting end user/business as needed/requested and upon completion.
- Provide training upon completion of work.

Ensures standardization across affiliates.

Participates as a member of a project team for implementation of new/upgrade of applications.

Participates in project teams during design and development.
- Documents current practice/workflows of assigned end users.
- Works independently on assigned tasks.
- Completes assigned projects according to established timeline.

Identifies project obstacles and assists in finding a resolution.

Conducts clinical application training for end users.

Develops training curriculum/materials for new applications according to established training plan.
- Trains new applications according to developed training plan.
- Ensures new employee training curriculum is regularly reviewed/updated to incorporate changes to application.

Develops Computer Based Training Modules.

Test applications to assure functionality.

Ensures adequate testing of new application/code for primary user positions.

Updates test scripts.

Maintains and utilizes knowledge of national trends to enhance informatics practice.

Maintains/updates knowledge in Cerner applications by regular use of uCern.

Participates in hosted reference calls.

Participates in off hour/weekend call rotation.

Job Requirements
Education
- Bachelor's Degree in Health Care, Business or related field required.
Experience
- Minimum 3 years of clinical experience working in a health care field or training related to computer applications.
License/Certifications
- American Heart Association or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS) preferred.
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license, valid compact multistate license, or a temporary permit while awaiting licensure preferred.
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
- Skill using computers and office equipment.
- Skill organizing and prioritizing work.
- Skill with verbal and written communication.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.
- Knowledge of software, hardware and clinical information support functions.
- Basic knowledge of Project Management.
- Ability to interact with all levels of health care end users to provide support and training.
- Ability to support, analyze, define and resolve user application and process issues/concerns.
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to balance change and continually strive to improve customer satisfaction.
- Ability to participate in problem-solving activities, task assignments and demonstrate consistent results.
- Ability to effectively prioritize and manage concurrent activities.
