Water/Wastewater Senior Project Engineer - Boise, ID

At AE2S, you’ll lead design and delivery of water and wastewater treatment projects that directly impact communities across Idaho. You won’t be stuck managing from a distance—you’ll stay close to the technical work while guiding teams and shaping outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Provide professional services for wastewater engineering projects to include design, plans, specifications, reports, project budgets, scope of work, permits, contracts, schedules, estimates, and coordination of sub-consultants and contractors
- Serve as a project engineer or task lead, coordinating multidisciplinary teams
- Design and oversee systems including treatment processes, pumping, pipelines, and related infrastructure
- Review and produce plans, specifications, and technical documentation
- Partner with project managers on scope, schedule, and budget delivery
- Mentor junior engineers and help elevate team performance

- You are leading key portions of complex water/wastewater projects with confidence
- Teams rely on you for technical direction and problem-solving
- You help deliver projects that are on time, on budget, and buildable
- You are actively contributing to client relationships and repeat work
Basic Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field
- Registration as a Professional Engineer ideal or ability to obtain within 3 months
- 10 or more years of experience in municipal civil engineering with a strong interest in the wastewater market sector
- Ability to travel as required for business development and project/client responsibilities
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Ability to effectively manage multiple initiatives simultaneously
- Maintain stellar reputation for integrity, fairness, reliability, good judgment and aptitude among peers, management, and staff
- All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include any/all of the following: criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations
Physical Qualifications
- Ability to walk up to 3-miles on uneven terrain
- Ability to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time
- Occasionally climb, stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist
- Occasionally lift, carry, push, and pull light to moderate amounts of weight
- May require lifting and carrying up to 20 pounds, with rare lifting of up to 50 pounds
- Ability to inspect equipment, structures, or materials to identify the cause of errors or other problems or defects.
- May be required to wear Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) including but not limited to, flame resistant clothing, hard hat, and protective footwear
- May require occasional evenings and weekends with overtime expectations varying with workload
- May be required to travel to off-site locations including occasional overnight stays out of town
