Are you eager to make a difference in the lives of Tampa Bay's youth? Then this job is for you! After-School All-Stars (ASAS) is looking for a dedicated team member, experienced in education or youth development, who is passionate about providing opportunities and services to youth. The After-School Youth Counselor is a part-time position responsible for assisting in the daily activities of for 3rd-8th graderes at an ASAS afterschool site in Tampa.
Responsibilities Include:
- Help lead curriculum provided by ASAS
- Provide direct supervision to ensure student safety
- Ensure the school rules and policies are reflected in daily practice
- Attend instructor trainings/meetings as required
- Work with other staff and teacherst o ensure that program activities are exciting and relevant to youth, as well as organized and well-thought-out
- Maintain professional and positive relationships with school staff, students, and parents
- Maintain accurate attendance data and reports
- Site location may vary based on programming needs
- Hours 1pm-6pm Mondays and 2pm-6pm Tuesdays through Fridays
Experience and Education
- 1 year or more of afterschool, youth development, or youth teaching experience
- Familiar with developmental needs of children and teens in grades 3 - 8
- A high school diploma is required
- A postsecondary degree, completed or in progress is preferred
- Must be age 18 or older
- Must pass a background check
**There is no relocation benefit associated with this position. Applicants must be able to commute to a school location within Tampa, FL**
