Job Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Controller to lead our financial operations and ensure the integrity of our construction projects’ financial health. This pivotal role involves overseeing accounting functions, managing project budgets, and ensuring compliance with construction regulations. The ideal candidate will bring a proactive approach to cost management, project scheduling, and team leadership within a fast-paced construction environment. Your expertise will drive financial accuracy, support project success, and foster continuous improvement across all financial processes.

Duties

• Lead the development and management of project budgets, ensuring accurate cost estimation and tracking throughout the construction lifecycle.
• Oversee construction schedule coordination by integrating project timelines with financial planning using project management software such as Primavera P6 and HeavyBid.
• Manage contracts, change orders, and procurement processes to optimize cost efficiency while maintaining compliance with construction regulations.
• Utilize construction management software like ProCore, Bluebeam, Civil 3D, and Microsoft Office to prepare reports, analyze data, and communicate financial insights effectively.
• Supervise teams involved in project coordination, ensuring adherence to schedules, budgets, and safety standards on construction sites.
• Ensure regulatory compliance by maintaining up-to-date knowledge of construction laws, safety standards, and industry best practices.
• Conduct regular reviews of construction plans and schematics to support accurate cost management and resource allocation.
• Facilitate project scheduling and construction schedule updates to keep projects on track for timely completion.
• Monitor project costs continuously to identify variances early and implement corrective actions promptly.
• Promote a culture of safety, quality assurance, and efficiency across all phases of construction management.

Experience

• Proven experience in managing complex infrastructure or commercial construction projects with a strong focus on cost control and budget management.
• Extensive knowledge of construction scheduling tools such as Primavera P6 and Primavera; familiarity with HeavyBid is highly desirable.
• Demonstrated ability to manage teams in a construction management role, including coordinating multiple stakeholders on large-scale projects.
• Strong background in reading blueprints, schematics, and construction plans to support accurate project execution.
• Hands-on experience with construction regulatory compliance and safety standards across various jurisdictions.
• Proficiency in using project management software including ProCore, Bluebeam, Civil 3D, Microsoft Office Suite, and other relevant tools for project tracking and reporting.
• Construction site experience is essential for understanding field operations and integrating them with financial oversight.
• Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of contracts negotiation, change order processing, and legal considerations related to construction projects is preferred.
