- Pay range: $600-$1,500 (depending on length of season and level of competition)
- Benefits: For employees contracted for 30 hours per week or more, Thomas MacLaren School pays for 100% of the employee’s base insurance premiums (Health, Dental, Vision, Long-term and Short-term disability, Accidental Death and Dismemberment insurance, and Life insurance) for the base level coverages. No benefits are provided to employees contracted for less than 30 hours per week.
- Learn the mission of the school and how it applies to Athletics
- Positively represent the school at practice and at home and away sporting and non-sporting events
- Positively represent the school and its mission to the students, parents, colleagues, and general public
- Champion the student-athlete and show active understanding and support of them
- Assure that players adhere to CHSAA rules (if a high school sport) and league rules (Black Forest League for high school, Central Colorado Athletic League for middle school); assist in assuring that the athletic program meets League and CSHAA regulations
- Attend training provided by the School, including a Coaching Orientation that happens once a year
- Help maintain an accurate inventory of equipment and materials, and check such an inventory at the conclusion of each season
- Maintain CPR/First Aid certification. Complete any annual trainings (Concussion, Mandatory Reporter, Student Mental Health, etc.) required by CHSAA, the league (BFL, CCAL), or the School
- Assist the Head Coach in managing and tracking the issuing of School competition uniforms to athletes
- Follow the safety protocols of the school for any practices, games, or use of the Facilities
- Be able to work cooperatively with School staff and Administration
- Attend required trainings or meetings that the Athletic Director arranges
- Attend a mandatory parent meeting each season
- Work with Head Coach on any communications with school staff, parents, and families
- Communicate with the Head Coach and the Athletic Director and parents about discipline concerns regarding an athlete or changes/concerns in their behavior
- Communicate with the applicable parents, the Athletic Director, and the Health office when athletes sustain an injury at practice or during competition
- Attend the Athletic Honors event for your sport; compose and present a speech to honor the team; present awards to athletes
- Discuss athletic expense requests with the Head Coach and Athletic Director
- Provide a channel through which students and the community may express their concerns
- Bachelor’s degree (preferred) with administrative and/or coaching experience.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong organizational ability and detailed oriented. The ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal communication, and organizational skills; solid working knowledge of CHSAA and conference league rules and procedures.
