Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform intermediate to advanced welding using MIG, TIG and stick processes on a variety of materials, including aluminum and steel.
- Independently interpret blueprints, drawing and weld symbols to complete assigned tasks accurately.
- Fit, align and assemble components with minimal supervision, ensuring proper tolerances and structural integrity.
- Execute complex welds, including anti-pass welds and out-of-position welding (vertical, overhead, etc.).
- Inspect welds forquality, ensuring compliance with company standards and applicable codes.
- Troubleshoot fit-up and welding issues and make necessary adjustments in the field or shop.
- Assist in layout and material planning for fabrication projects.
- Mentor and guide junior Welding staff (Welder III), supporting skill development and productivity.
- Maintain welding equipment and ensure proper setup for various tasks and materials.
- Adhere strictly to all safety protocols.
- Coordinate with supervisors and other trades to ensure project timelines and quality expectations are met.
- Special projects may be assigned as required by the business.
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities)
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 2-5 years of welding and fabrication experience, preferably in a marine or heavy industrial environment.
- Demonstrated proficiency in multiple welding processes and positions.
- Ability to read and interpret detailed blueprints and welding symbols.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Problem solving and troubleshooting abilities.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
- Leadership experience.
- Valid US driver’s license and a clean driving record.
- Must pass a security background check and DOT drug test.
- Formal welding training or certification preferred.
- Familiarity with aluminum welding strongly preferred.

- Comfortable working in confined spaces.

- Physically able to wear all PPE including a welding hood, respirator and protective clothing.
- Required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to walk on uneven deck surfaces crossing from vessel to vessel.
Work Environment
- This is a fast-paced and dynamic work environment with a diverse workforce.
- May require overtime, weekend work or travel depending on project needs.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule to include weekends and holidays during the tour season.
- Must adhere to AM Owner Group, & Affiliated Companies, and the United States Coast Guard Consortium Drug & Alcohol Policies & Procedures.
