Could you be the full-time onsite Train Maintenance Engineer in Long Island City, NY, US we’re looking for?
Your future role
Take on a new challenge and apply your engineering expertise in a new cutting-edge field. You’ll work alongside dedicated and innovative teammates.
You'll play a critical role in ensuring the seamless execution of train maintenance projects and the reliability of our systems. Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with teams across the business (Engineering, Industrial, Amtrak personnel), lead troubleshooting activities, support maintenance execution, and much more.
We’ll look to you for:
Ensuring the effective execution of Maintenance Instructions during the Maintenance Project phase.
Reporting issues in maintenance execution and suggesting optimizations in technical content to the Engineering team.
Proposing method improvements to the Industrial team to enhance maintenance processes.
Serving as the onsite technical reference for maintenance execution, troubleshooting, and maintenance documentation.
Acting as the link between maintenance teams and Sub-system Engineers for technical clarifications and support.
Achieving and maintaining the level of TCMS key user and serving as the local reference for this system.
Conducting hands-on troubleshooting and maintenance activities onboard trains and within maintenance facilities.
Communicating intelligently and effectively with internal teams and external groups as appropriate.
Demonstrating resilience, adaptability, and continuous learning in a dynamic work environment.
Working in a rotating shift schedule, including weekends and holidays, to ensure 24/7 coverage for maintenance support.

Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, or a related field, OR equivalent mechanical or electrical experience.
Experience or understanding of hands-on work with on-board equipment such as design, validation, troubleshooting, or maintenance.
Knowledge of Rolling Stock/Rail Transportation warranty and reliability growth, or similar industries such as Aviation, Automobile, or Military.
Familiarity with preventive and corrective maintenance processes, as well as troubleshooting techniques.
Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively internally and externally.
Resilience and adaptability to work in a 24/7 shift environment, including weekends and holidays.
Technical curiosity and a motivation to learn and grow.
Capacity for synthesis and analysis to address technical challenges.
Autonomy and self-organization to execute tasks independently.
Leadership skills to coordinate and guide troubleshooting teams.
