AMECO, a North American leader in Construction Site Services, Product Distribution, and Equipment Rental is seeking a Delivery Driver/ Warehouse Technician to support our local customer base and project site deliveries and pick-ups in a safe and timely manner. Travel would primarily be local (working within an approximate 200-mile radius). The position is based out of our Evansville, IN facility.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Delivers and picks-up materials/supplies, rentals, and completes applicable paperwork in a safe and timely manner.
- Load, unload, move or store product (may require use of a forklift) according to delivery or routing documents or supervisor instructions.
- Keep supervisor(s) informed regarding special requests and priority changes.
- Organize and complete appropriate paperwork and logs (accurately/legibly)
- Exercise general truck maintenance to include, conducting routine pre & post inspections and advising safety/maintenance concerns, while maintaining truck appearance/cleanliness
- Establish and maintain a positive working relationship with internal/external customers, while providing exceptional customer service
- Plans, organizes, and carries out assignments as directed.
- Cross trains and performs back-up branch duties, as requested.
- Accurately picks, packs, and prepares equipment and supply orders for shipment or customer pickup.
- Verify order accuracy against packing slips and shipping documents.
- Ensure all equipment is properly labeled and staged for scheduled deliveries.
- Receive, inspect, and unload incoming equipment and supplies.
- Timely follow-up and resolution of customer complaints/concerns
- Remains compliant with all applicable Federal, state, local, regulations and AMECO safety rules/regulations/policies/procedures
- Meets expectations on attendance and punctuality.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: High School Diploma or GED
JOB EXPERIENCE, QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, and/or SKILLS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the experience, knowledge, qualifications, skills, and/or ability required. - Must be a minimum of 21 years of age.
- Must have a valid driver’s license with a minimum of one year driving a commercial motor vehicle with a clean driving record.
- Exposure to RF scanning and/or bar-coding systems would be a plus.
- Able to drive and safely operate a forklift (can provide training if needed).
- Must be able to climb a ladder and lift 50 pounds on a regular and routine basis, while meeting physical demands associated with loading/unloading materials, getting in and out of truck and driving a forklift.
- Ability to understand and effectively carry out oral and written instructions.
- Required to wear Company issued Personal Protective Equipment while on all job sites.
- Ability to work cooperatively with all levels of employees, management, and external customers to maximize performance, problem solving and results.
- Participate in and maintain a positive team working environment.
- Ability to adhere to work deadlines.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a strong customer service focus. Able to build/maintain long-term customer relations.
- Ability to act and operate independently with minimal daily direction from manager to accomplish goals.
- Must always display a professional demeanor, while maintaining creditability and trustworthiness amongst both internal and external customers.
- Capable of working at a fast pace, with excellent time management skills.
- Strong attention to detail/follow-up – able to follow directions.
- Reliable/dependable (punctual, with good attendance)
- Responsible to work safely, assist in ensuring safe working conditions exist and report unsafe conditions to supervisor.
- Capable of multi-tasking and flexible to change direction, work schedule and/or focus as priorities dictate.
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATION: Must have/maintain a clean driving record and a standard driver’s license. Must maintain forklift certification.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/REQUIREMENTS
Individuals will be required to frequently sit/drive, stand, walk, carry, reach, stoop, push/pull, handle/grasp/feel, lift/bend, climb, talk, hear, engage in repetitive motions, and demonstrate eye/hand/foot coordination. Employees are required to regularly lift, carry, and/or move up to 50 pounds.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
This position is primarily based in a warehouse/distribution setting. Role involves working alone and collaborating as part of a team. Often required to work at a fast pace to meet deadlines, thus some stress may occur. Environmental conditions (indoors and/or outdoors) include frequent exposure to cold/heat, temperature changes, noise, and humidity. Occasionally the performance of this position will require exposure to production/manufacturing areas, which may result in being near moving mechanical parts or be exposed to fumes or airborne particles. These respective areas will require the use of personal protective equipment, such as safety glasses, hearing protection or hard hats. The noise level in the production/manufacturing areas is usually loud.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
Availability as requested/required for after-hour emergency calls, necessary overtime as the workload dictates.
