American Traveler seeks a Certified Surgical Technologist with at least 3 years of OB experience for a Labor and Delivery unit position at a Level III NICU and Level 2 Trauma teaching hospital.
Details
- Work within the Labor and Delivery unit's birth center, which includes 2 ORs
- Case types include C-sections and assisting with vaginal deliveries
- Approximately 70 C-sections performed per month, with higher volume on day shifts
- 12-hour night shift schedule, 1900-0700, 36 hours per week
- Schedule cycle rotates every six weeks with shift options for days or nights
- Every other weekend rotation required
- No on-call or call-back requirements
- No floating required
- EPIC EMR used on the unit, though experience is not expected
- Anesthesia/CRNA coverage available on the unit 24/7
- Charge nurse support available, occasionally with patient assignments
- Receptionist/HUC support provided on the unit

- BLS certification required
- CST certification preferred
- License required if applicable
- Minimum of 3 years of OB experience required
- Minimum of 12 months of core work experience in the unit specialty area, with most recent experience within the last year
- Ability to pass instruments and first assist in surgical cases
- Comfortable setting up for vaginal deliveries and transporting instruments to and from sterile processing
- Able to assist nursing staff as needed within scope of practice
- Last 4 digits of SSN and full date of birth required for consideration
- Minimum of 1 professional reference dated within the past year from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN

- Holiday coverage expectations depend on departmental needs
- All RTO requests require manager approval
- Scrubs are provided by the facility
- Free parking is available in a designated area
- Final clinical interview conducted by the unit manager
- Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate as travelers, with no radius restriction for GA facilities
- Candidates previously employed in a permanent position at an AHSE facility must have been separated for at least 1 year to be eligible
