ABOUT THE POSITION:
We are seeking a Senior to join our Real Estate Advisory Services (REAS) team at Anchin. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with a dynamic client base while gaining exposure to both tax compliance and advisory services within the real estate industry.
The ideal candidate brings strong partnership tax experience, thrives in a collaborative environment, and is looking to deepen expertise in real estate taxation and structuring.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepare and review federal, state, and local tax returns for:
- Partnerships, LLCs, and flow-through entities.
- Real estate operating entities, holding companies, and investment structures.
- High-net-worth individuals with real estate holdings.
- Analyze partnership agreements, allocations, and waterfall structures.
- Perform book-to-tax adjustments, depreciation calculations, and basis tracking.
- Support tax planning and advisory initiatives, including:
- Entity structuring and restructuring.
- Transaction support (acquisitions, dispositions, refinancing).
- 1031 exchanges and other deferral strategies.
- Conduct tax research and draft technical memos on complex real estate tax issues.
- Collaborate with Managers and Partners on planning strategies and client deliverables.
- Manage multiple engagements and deadlines across a diverse client portfolio.
- Review the work of junior team members and provide mentorship and guidance.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
- Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- CPA preferred.
Experience:
- 2+ years of public accounting tax experience, preferably within real estate advisory services (REAS).
- Demonstrated experience with real estate clients and partnership taxation.
- Strong understanding of Subchapter K, allocations, and tiered entity structures.
- Experience with tax software (e.g., GoSystem, CCH Axcess) and advanced Excel skills.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
Compensation:
- Competitive annual salary in the range of $85,000 to $125,000 based on individual's experience level.
