Job Summary
- Helps advance the mission of the Annual Catholic Appeal and other Archdiocesan initiatives by developing and implementing strategic marketing, communications, and digital media efforts that promote stewardship, evangelization, and engagement through multiple media platforms.
- Creates and manages compelling content across multiple platforms, highlighting the impact of donor support and sharing stories that witness to the good work of the Church.
- Obtains and Curates selection of pictures, videos, and good news stories for use by the ACA Office and partners.
- Provides creative and administrative support for the Executive Director and the Office of Stewardship and the Annual Catholic Appeal.
Job Responsibilities
- Acts as a witness to Gospel values by modeling the teachings of the Catholic Church.
- Manages and maintains all Annual Catholic Appeal social media accounts and develops strategies to increase engagement, reach, and audience growth.
- Writes, produces, posts, and schedules social media content to increase followers and grow engagement.
- Works with the executive director to develop and implement a comprehensive social media plan, including identifying key audiences, cultivating followers, and building relationships with influential voices throughout the Archdiocese.
- Develops and maintains calendars for electronic promotional efforts for the Annual Catholic Appeal including social media and email campaigns.
- Identifies, researches, and pursues compelling stories that highlight the impact of the ACA, Catholic ministries, parishes, schools, and supported agencies.
- Seeks out, curates, and promotes positive news stories from across the archdiocese and develops creative methods for sharing those stories through digital and print channels.
- Obtains, maintains, and organizes marketing photography and video assets to ensure accessibility and effective use across campaigns.
- Develops methods for making good news stories, photography, and videos available to partners, parishes, and others who wish to promote the Appeal.
- Develops content concepts and writes scripts for promotional, testimonial, and informational videos.
- Reviews and edits marketing materials, publications, donor communications, and promotional content to ensure messaging consistency, accuracy, and effectiveness.
- Drafts sample letters, email communications, social media content, promotional materials, and campaign messaging.
- Develops and maintains Canva templates and other marketing resources for parish and ministry use.
- Provides reporting on all electronic media efforts
- Cultivates relationships with parish communicators, ministry leaders, and social media influencers throughout the archdiocese to expand awareness and amplify campaign messaging.
- Manages and updates ACA website content, ensuring accurate information, organized resources, and accessible descriptions and links for supported agencies and ministries.
- Creates and coordinates in-house marketing materials and collaborates with vendors, agencies, and production partners as needed.
- Assists in the development and implementation of creative promotional strategies and engagement opportunities for events and campaigns.
- Provides marketing support and consultation to parishes participating in the Annual Catholic Appeal.
- Assists with marketing campaigns for additional fundraising campaigns including #iGiveCatholic, affordable housing initiatives, and other priorities of the Archbishop of St. Louis.
- Assists with promotional and administrative responsibilities related to #iGiveCatholic and other fundraising initiatives.
- Attends events as needed, including occasional evenings and weekends.
- Completes other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
- Knowledge of Catholic theology, culture, and the mission of the Church.
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Digital Media, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Two to five years of experience in marketing, communications, social media management, public relations, or related fields preferred.
- Experience creating and managing digital marketing campaigns across multiple platforms.
- Experience with content management systems, website administration, and email marketing platforms.
- Proficiency with Canva, Microsoft Office, social media platforms, and other digital communication tools.
- Experience with photography, videography, and digital content management preferred.
- Knowledge of fundraising and stewardship communications is preferred.
- Strong writing, editing, proofreading, and storytelling abilities.
