Position Summary
The Senior Operations Trainer is responsible for developing, delivering, and maintaining technical training programs for manufacturing personnel in a high-precision aerospace manufacturing environment. This role ensures employees are trained to meet aerospace quality standards, regulatory requirements, and internal process specifications while supporting operational excellence, safety, workforce development, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver hands-on training programs for operators, technicians, assemblers, and inspectors involved in electro-mechanical assembly, testing, inspection, and production processes.
- Train employees on assembly techniques, wiring and cable harness standards, soldering, torque requirements, precision measurement, testing procedures, inspection methods, and equipment operation.
- Create and maintain training materials including work instructions, visual aids, manuals, presentations, and digital learning modules.
- Ensure training aligns with AS9100, IPC standards, ESD/FOD controls, and internal manufacturing procedures.
- Evaluate trainee competency through written assessments, practical demonstrations, and on-the-job performance verification.
- Maintain training records, certifications, and compliance documentation using LMS platforms such as Litmos.
- Collaborate with Operations, Engineering, Quality, EH&S, and Learning & Development teams to identify training needs, address skill gaps, and support new product introduction (NPI).
- Assist with onboarding, mentoring, and cross-training employees to support workforce flexibility and operational continuity.
- Promote safe work practices and reinforce adherence to quality and workmanship standards.
- Continuously improve training content and methods based on operational feedback, process updates, and industry standards.
Required Qualifications
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering Technology, Manufacturing, Industrial Technology, or related field; or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of experience in aerospace, electro-mechanical assembly, or precision manufacturing environments.
- Experience developing and delivering technical manufacturing training.
- Knowledge of AS9100, IPC standards, and controlled manufacturing documentation.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, and process documentation.
- Hands-on experience with soldering, wiring, crimping, torque systems, and precision assembly tools.
- Strong communication, coaching, and instructional skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Learning Management Systems (LMS).
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in aerospace, defense, or high-reliability manufacturing.
- IPC certifications (such as IPC-A-610, J-STD-001, or IPC/WHMA-A-620).
- Train-the-Trainer certification or formal instructional experience.
- Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma training.
- Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS) or structured workforce training programs.

Compensation:
- Base salary: $79,000 through $88,700, influenced by several factors including experience, skill set, education, certifications, market conditions, and business needs.
- This position may involve access to items subject to U.S. export-control laws. Employment is contingent upon the employee’s authorization to access such items under applicable law. The company does not guarantee and is under no obligation to seek such authorization if it would be necessary.
