About the Role

B2 Constructors, LLC is seeking a Commercial Construction Estimator to support estimating efforts for private and public commercial construction projects. This role is responsible for preparing accurate bids, quotes, estimates, and proposals; reviewing bid packages; sourcing subcontractor/vendor pricing; and supporting the full bid cycle from initial review through submission.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, experienced with takeoff and estimating software, and able to manage multiple estimates and deadlines in a fast-paced construction environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and interpret project plans, specifications, scopes of work, and bid documents.
• Prepare detailed cost estimates for labor, materials, equipment, subcontractors, and vendors.
• Perform quantity takeoffs using estimating/takeoff software.
• Solicit, review, and level subcontractor and vendor bids.
• Identify scope gaps, risks, exclusions, and opportunities within bid packages.
• Attend pre-bid meetings and conduct site visits as needed.
• Work closely with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, vendors, and clients.
• Maintain organized estimating files, bid documentation, proposals, and historical cost data.
• Support accurate, competitive, and complete bid submissions.

Must-Have Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of commercial construction estimating experience required; 3–5 years preferred.
• Proficiency with takeoff software such as On-Screen Takeoff, Bluebeam, PlanSwift, FastPipe, FastDuct, or similar.
• Experience using dedicated estimating software such as Quick Bid, HeavyBid, STACK, or similar.
• Strong subcontractor/vendor bid solicitation and follow-up skills.
• Ability to manage multiple estimates and shifting priorities while maintaining accuracy.
• Strong communication, organization, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Advanced Microsoft Word and Excel skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Flexibility to work extended hours during peak bidding periods when needed.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred; equivalent construction, field, or estimating experience may be considered.
• Mechanical estimating experience.
• Private-sector commercial estimating experience.
• Field construction experience.
• Experience with vertical commercial construction, including office, retail, healthcare, or educational facilities.
• Knowledge of local building codes and regulations.
• Certified Professional Estimator certification or similar credential.
