This incumbent will support business and client volume based on the risk appetite of the Bank, accelerate the development of SME and corporate business and enhancing service levels, and provide post lending, customer services and underwriting on Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) and corporate loan products. In addition, s/he will complete tasks assigned by the manager and prepare loan analysis and loan recommendations to meet objectives.
The Associate shall maintain a moderate knowledge of general corporate and commerical banking products and services, and credit business in commercial (non-CRE) sector mainly focusing on non-investmentgrade and mid-sized enterprises. The incumbent shall actively assist the supervisor and team lead to solicitate, develop and accelarate the Branch’s overall corporate and commerical banking business, mainly the effective accounts, deposit, lending, and FX trading, to facilitate the Branch business growth.
Business Development (35%)
- Implement the pre-set business strategies in developing the Branch’s general corporate banking and credit businesses and actively seize market opportunities to expand client base.
- Assist to approach and liaise with new customers and advance customers onboarding process by coordinating with New Account Team and BSA/KYC Team.
- Assist to underwrite loan businesses, mainly the commercial (non-CRE) sector, by analyzing project credit worthiness and risk mitigants, drafting credit recommendation reports, and presenting to Bank Committee for credit approval following the Bank’s risk policies and procedures, as well as credit underwriting standards.
- Assist to conduct market and industrial research to explore new business opportunities in general corporate banking and commercial credit businesses (non-CRE sector).
- Participate market and industrial events to promote and cross-sell the Bank’s corporate and commercial banking products and services.
- Meet business objectives set by the supervisor and Branch Manager.
Post-Business Management (35%)
- Assist to coordinate among Credit Risk Management Dept., Operation Services Dept., and Quality Control Units, to proactively manage post-lending tasks (mainly non-CRE sector) including but not limited to, monitor project overall financial and operation performance, conduct customer and site visits, collect post-lending documents such as financial reports, tax returns, insurance certificates, professional reports, and etc. following loan covenant and reporting requirement per Committee approval and loan documentation, draft applicable loan annual reviews and quarterly reviews for supervisor review, and address post lending questions and issues to manage and mitigate emerging risks in a timely manner upon consultation with supervisor.
- Proactively and prudentially manage customer relationship to ensure seamless client service and support and promote and cross-sell other corporate products and services.
- Respond and address customer inquiries and complaints in a professional and timely manner upon consultation with supervisor.
Risk and Compliance Management (25%)
- Collaborate with BSA/KYC team to conduct preliminarily compliance assessment during corporate customer onboardings, periodically reviews and event triggered reviews.
- Proactively identify, monitor, mitigate, report and escalate emerging risks primarily focusing on corporate account and commercial credit (non-CRE sector) businesses.
- Adhere to the Bank’s applicable risk and compliance policies and procedures in daily business operation.
Others (5%)
- Participate in bank wide projects and undertake occasional tasks assigned by supervisor and Branch Manager.
- Bachelor’s Degree or above, preferred major in Finance, Economics, Accounting or relevant fields.
- Minimum 4 years of general corporate and commercial banking and lending experience.
- Moderate knowledge of financial analysis and credit underwriting (primarily in CRE lending business).
- Sound knowledge of due diligence process, regulatory and compliance.
- Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint.
- Bilingual ability in Mandarin and English required.
Actual salary is commensurate with candidate’s relevant years of experience, skillset, education and other qualifications.
