SUMMARYThe Pack-Out Shift Supervisor is responsible for the supervision and coordination of Pack-Out personnel during their assigned shift. This role plans, coordinates, and schedules daily tasks and operations to ensure products are packed out to quality standards in a timely and efficient manner.This position requires availability to work second shift and potentially weekends. First shift: 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM; Second shift: 3:00 PM – 12:00 AM (midnight).
JOB FUNCTION/PURPOSE
- Participates in meetings with the operations team in regard to new projects.
- Evaluates and assign resources for projects.
- Evaluates personal performance.
- Communicates with Temp Agency and request personnel.
- Conducts production meeting with supervisors and leads about new projects.
- Conducts safety meetings.
- Could be requested to Participate in assembly of the First Article.
- Provides training on assembly of new items.
- Performs production line flow Analysis and leads on more efficient practices.
- Sets up production lines.
- Conducts training for leads on production entries in Nulogy.
- Monitors all Nulogy transactions pertaining to production department (materials movement to the line, material consumption, material staging and material reconciliation).
- Setups and tune production equipment for better performance.
- Troubleshoots equipment and install tooling.
- Trains leads on creating and printing labels for products.
- Identifies tasks and tools appropriate for each project.
- Supervises and coordinates production forklift drivers.
- Supervises that forklift equipment is operating in good order.
- Supervises and ensures that production personnel is provided with the proper computer equipment.
- Send request of repair for equipment, mechanical or computer.
- Communicates with crew about pending assignments.
- Trains new shift crew.
- Participates on the evaluation and cost analysis of the projects during the run and when is completed and provide feedback about ways to improve.
- Enforces safe practices and along with company policies.
- Directs manpower assignments for their shift to meet production schedule.
- Follows orders in which work will be completed.
- Makes supplies and equipment available for maximum efficiency.
- Monitors and provide reports on availability of consumables such: Tape, stretch wrap, strapping Buckles, ribbon labels and other production supplies.
- Monitors work in progress for quality and adherence to specs.
- Coordinates space allocation of finished goods with shipping department.
- Ensures machines maintained and preventive maintenance procedures are followed. Inspect work centers for evidence of excessive waste.
- Checks work areas to ensure that proper housekeeping procedures are being followed.
- Review Job Folder and programs and Approves orders for Leads to be run.
- Makes recommendations for changes to improve production design or production efficiency.
- Reviews division yearly goals and drives departmental efforts to achieve targets as outlined on scorecards.
- Supervises up to 10 leads, 14 forklift drivers, 8 support associates, 4 recycling associates, and 4 janitorial associates, potentially across two buildings.
- Performs 1 to 1’s with Manager in charge monthly.
- Performs additional duties as requested.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & COMPETENCIES
- HS Diploma or GED Equivalent; completion of two years college, a plus.
- 2-3 years in Packout/fulfillment process and practices, including some work in a supervisory capacity.
- Valid Driver's License with DMV evidence of good driving record.
- Ability to work extended hours and various shifts.
- Bilingual in Spanish/English required.
