Job Summary:
The Employment/Education Coordinator supports this mission by providing direct daily support to the individuals in our program and collaborating with them on their career goals.
This is a non-exempt position.
Supervisory Responsibilities: N/A
Essential Functions of Position:
- Assist members with finding employment, which may include training in interview skills, resume building, on-the-job training, and acting as a liaison with community partners
- Collaborate with members on all aspects of the Employment and Education Unit
- Network with local businesses as potential employers
- Connect with and use services of the Employment Collaborative
- Attend benefits trainings and stay up to date on reporting requirements
- Work with members to explore possible paths towards employment
- Provide workshops to members, social activities, and educational resources
- Assess an individual's training needs, develop descriptive teaching programs and curricula while monitoring effectiveness through data collection.
- Work with members who have educational goals they are looking to achieve, this could include support with contacting local schools, helping with financial aid systems such as FAFSA, and working with community partners such as Mass-Ability for employment and educational resources.
- Understand the community we support and protect their rights, dignity, and confidentiality while being supported to achieve their goals
- Participate in the direct implementation of the members Action Plan goals, record data related to the Action Plan.
- Maintain informal and formal communications with all program support staff and provide written communications at the end of each work day including progress notes, data sheets, production paperwork and incident reports as required. Read and respond to email communication on a daily basis.
- Track and report employment and education data for the clubhouse and our funding source
- Perform other duties and projects as assigned.
- Performs program maintenance and cleaning tasks that have been designated by shift responsibilities.
- Follows and implements all program safety procedures.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively and collaboratively with a culturally diverse population of individuals, co-workers, care providers, family, and community members.
- Demonstrated ability to work both independently and within a team context.
- Professional documentation and communication skills, as well as demonstrated organizational skills.
- Ability to negotiate and resolve differences.
- Ability to function under pressure in a fast-paced human service environment.
- Ability to be flexible, open and responsive to ongoing industry changes.
- Ability to articulate and communicate Bay Cove missions and strategic direction in a consistent and enthusiastic manner to departmental staff.
- Ability to identify opportunities and obstacles and develop effective, creative solutions to pursue opportunities.
- Attend required orientation and training, including in-service training, conferences, and seminars.
- Maintain certification in CPR, SFA, and MANDT
- Proficient in MS Office and Google applications
- An acceptable CORI (criminal record assessment).
- Valid driver’s license
- Bachelor’s degree and one year of previous work experience in a human service setting preferred.
- Ability to assist people with mobility impairments as needed.
- Ability to lift 30 pounds.

Pay Rate: $25.50 Hourly
