What We Are Looking For
This position provides support within the Student-Athlete Formation unit at Baylor University and assists with planning, implementing, and evaluating programs and initiatives that promote the holistic development of student-athletes. Areas of emphasis include career readiness, personal development, NIL education, development, and transition beyond sport. The ability to interact with a wide range of constituents, including student-athletes, coaches, Athletics staff, faculty, and campus partners, is essential. The ideal candidate must have prior experience working in intercollegiate athletics, student development, or a related higher education setting. Additionally, The candidate must have specific experience in providing NIL education for student-athletes and/or be knowledgeable of NIL in intercollegiate athletics.
Required: Bachelor’s Degree, two (2) years of relevant experience, and a Christian faith.
Preferred: Master’s Degree and 3-5 years of relevant experience.
All applicants must currently be authorized to work in the United States on a Full-Time basis.
What You Will Do
NIL Education:
- Compliance & Education
- Develop educational resources, programming, and events focused on brand development and for student-athletes, coaches, and staff.
- Ensure compliance with university, NCAA, and relevant state NIL regulations. Stay informed on the latest NIL trends and best practices.
- Athlete-Marketing & Branding
- Support Baylor Athletics Administration in the execution of events in collaboration with content and operations staff.
- Engage as a supportive resource in partnership with other Athletics units with student-athlete guidance on personal branding, marketplace positioning, and social media strategy. Collaborates with licensing staff on increasing group opportunities for student-athletes and sport programs.
Student-Athlete Development Programming: Assist in the development, implementation, and evaluation of student-athlete development programming focused on leadership development, career readiness, personal growth, and transition beyond sport.
Career and Leadership Development: Lead and support career development initiatives, and educational opportunities designed to prepare student-athletes for success during and beyond their collegiate experience.
Student Engagement and Support: Serve as a primary Student-Athlete Development resource for assigned sport programs, fostering meaningful engagement, connection, and participation in Student-Athlete Development initiatives.
Campus and Community Collaboration: Establish and maintain relationships with coaches, Athletics staff, campus partners, and community organizations to enhance the student-athlete experience and support developmental programming.
