The Nursing Operations Coordinator at Bellarmine University supports the Nursing Department by assisting the Director of Nursing Operations in key operational and administrative functions. This role focuses on coordinating events and recruitment activities for current and prospective students, managing special programming such as dual enrollment initiatives, and providing administrative support for clinical activities, including personnel contracts, affiliation agreements, and compliance documentation when needed. The Coordinator plays a vital role in fostering engagement with students, alumni, and community partners, ensuring smooth execution of departmental initiatives. By collaborating with faculty, enrollment management, and marketing/communication teams, the Coordinator enhances the visibility and accessibility of nursing programs while supporting the department's mission to deliver high-quality education and clinical training.
Primary Responsibilities
- Coordinate events for current and prospective students, faculty, and staff, including open houses, orientation programs, high school visits, faculty & staff socials, and alumni engagement activities, in collaboration with the Enrollment Management and Marketing/Communication offices.
- Manage special programming and recruitment activities, such as dual enrollment initiatives and visits, by organizing schedules, communicating with partner institutions, and conducting recruitment presentations.
- Provide administrative support for clinical activities, including preparing and maintaining personnel contracts for clinical instructors, processing affiliation agreements with clinical sites, and ensuring accuracy of related paperwork.
- Assist in managing nursing social media platforms (e.g., Facebook, Instagram, Twitter) by creating and posting content to promote program offerings, events, and student achievements, under the direction of the Director of Nursing Operations.
- Utilize recruitment tools (e.g., Slate, NursingCAS, Nursing website) to support outreach efforts and promote upcoming events and program information to prospective and current students.
- Support the Director of Nursing Operations in preparing reports and self-study documents.
- Foster relationships with community partners and clinical sites to support clinical placement processes and event coordination.
- Provide general administrative support, including scheduling meetings, managing correspondence, and organizing departmental documentation.
- Teach academic success and core curriculum courses for dual enrollment students.
- Other duties as assigned.
Secondary Responsibilities
- Attend faculty, university, and community meetings as appropriate to represent the Nursing Department.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree required.
- Experience in administrative coordination, event planning, or healthcare recruitment/education preferred. Familiarity with nursing or healthcare settings is a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook) and experience with online databases or learning management systems (e.g., Moodle).
- Competence in digital communication and social media platforms (e.g., Facebook, Instagram).
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including professional oral and written communication.
- Ability to work collaboratively with faculty, students, and external partners.
- Some travel may be required for event coordination or recruitment meetings/ presentations with community partners.
