BETA is seeking an experienced Waste Water Project Manager to lead the planning, design, and delivery of complex waste water treatment facility projects for municipal and public-sector clients. This leadership role offers the opportunity to manage high-profile treatment facility upgrades, expansions, and new developments while working alongside industry-leading professionals. The successful candidate will oversee projects from planning through construction, lead multidisciplinary teams, manage client relationships, and provide technical leadership in waste water treatment facility design. This position plays a key role in BETA’s continued growth and offers opportunities to mentor other employee-owners, drive innovation, and deliver impactful infrastructure solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Manage waste water treatment facility projects from scope development, budgeting, and scheduling through design, permitting, bidding, and construction phase services
- Lead and coordinate multidisciplinary teams on waste water treatment plant upgrades, expansions, rehabilitation projects, and new facility developments
- Oversee the planning, design, and implementation of waste water treatment processes, including pumping stations, solids handling systems, and related infrastructure
- Direct the preparation and review of facility plans, engineering reports, process evaluations, technical specifications, and construction contract documents
- Provide technical leadership and quality assurance for waste water treatment facility designs, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, client objectives, and industry best practices
- Mentor and develop engineering staff by providing technical guidance, reviewing work products, and supporting professional growth
- Build and maintain strong client relationships, serving as a trusted advisor throughout project delivery
- Lead project meetings with clients, regulatory agencies, stakeholders, and project teams
- Negotiate contracts, develop scopes of work, and manage project financial performance
- Support business development efforts, including proposal preparation, client engagement, and pursuit of new waste water treatment opportunities
- Stay current with emerging waste water treatment technologies & regulatory trends
- Represent the organization in industry forums and professional associations, leveraging technical innovations and industry knowledge to support project success
Preferred location is BETA’s Lincoln, RI office. Candidates should have flexibility to work from our other office locations. BETA also offers a hybrid work schedule, allowing employees to request working remotely up to 2 days per week.

Required Experience/Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in civil or environmental engineering
- Professional Engineer (PE) License
- 15+ years of related engineering experience in waste water projects
- Project Management experience
- Knowledge of and experience with the implementation of planning, design, bidding and construction oversight of waste water projects
- Skilled in writing and ability to prepare formal reports
- Strong leadership and organizational skills
- Must be able to collect field data and measurements and perform asset inspections for water and wastewater infrastructure, in addition to other utility assets;
- Must be able to lift/move objects weighing up to 40 pounds
- Must be able to perform field work in both hot and cold weather (rain and/or snow)
- Must be able to stand or sit for long periods of time
- Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
