PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
- At least 2 years of experience in the field performing public or private utility location work.
- Proven track record and stellar safety record for effectively performing locates for telecommunication, electric distribution, natural gas, cable television, fiber optics, streetlights, storm drains, water mains, and sanitary.
- Ability to travel to project sites as needed, with the potential for relocation.
- Relevant training & certifications, including — but not limited to — Certified Locator Technician (CLT) or Utility Locator Technician (ULT) from recognized organizations such as NULCA (National Utility Locating Contractors Association)
- Experience using ground-penetrating radar (GPR) and other tools of the trade.
- History of troubleshooting unexpected problems on the fly, collaborating with utility stakeholders to minimize damage and delays.
- Regulatory smarts, including working knowledge of OSHA regulations and local utility marking guidelines.
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Exhibiting a high level of responsiveness, including expedited follow-up for award of new potential contracts.
- Proactively managing and executing projects.
- Developing rapport and collaboration with clients and utility stakeholders.
- Creating transparency with clients in terms of scheduling, troubleshooting of unexpected issues, achievement of key milestones, etc.
- Tracking and documenting key project details, culminating in sharing of client deliverables.
