Characteristics of Work:
Second-level professional position accountable for performing complex assignments often requiring the development of new or improved multi-platform hardware and software operating systems and system administration processes or techniques. Accountable for the design, implementation and evaluation of system administration and operating systems. Makes recommendations for process improvement in relevant disciplines. Participates in the development of system administration and operating system standards. Works on and solves complex problems where analysis requires in depth evaluation of various factors. Provides complex technical support in relevant field of discipline. May serve as project lead and provide technical direction to lower-level team members. Mentors less experienced staff.
Duties:
- Manage and maintain multi-platform computer system and operating systems.
- Design, implement, and improve system administration processes and procedures.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex hardware, software, and system issues.
- Provide advanced technical support for systems administration and operating systems.
- Evaluate system performance and recommend improvements to increase efficiency and reliability.
- Develop and maintain system administration standards and best practices.
- Lead or assist with technical project related to system implementation and upgrades.
- Analyze complex technical problems and develop effective solutions.
- Provide technical guidance and support to lower-level team members.
- Mentor and train less experienced staff on systems administration practices.
- All other duties as assigned.
Experience/Educational Requirements:
Typically requires a Bachelor's Degree and 5-8+ years of IT experience with emphasis in multi-platform hardware and softwear systems administration.
Pay: $55,877.96 - $69,500.00 per hour
