Broad Top Area Medical Center, operating 12 medical offices in Huntingdon County, PA, is seeking a Support Provider-Physician Assistant (PA-C) or a Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner (CRNP) providing primary and preventive healthcare services to a diverse patient population, working collaboratively within an FQHC setting. This role focuses on delivering accessible, high-quality care with an emphasis on health promotion, chronic disease management, and reducing health disparities. The Support PA-C or CRNP will work under the supervision of the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) or Physician, and the clinical responsibilities are delegated by designated physicians, alongside other healthcare team members to meet the healthcare needs of the underserved community. This position will work in a variety of offices to support physicians and other providers by performing a variety of services for patient care.
The Support PA-C or CRNP practice complies with national standards of practice and is within State-mandated scope of practice.
The support provider will be on a rotating schedule and will regularly assist with Annual Wellness Visits (AWV’s), Acute Care, Transition of Care Visits, Hospital Follow Up Visits, Commercial Driver’s licenses (CDL) physicals, and other visits, procedures, and care necessary to support BTAMC providers, as needed.
DUTIES/ RESPONSIBILITIES
· Conduct comprehensive assessments, including health histories, physical examinations, and diagnostic evaluations and records the patient’s information.
· Examine patient to determine general physical condition.
· Orders or executes various laboratory tests, analyses, and diagnostic images to provide information on patient’s condition.
· Interpret laboratory and diagnostic tests, accurately documenting findings in the patient’s electronic medical record.
· Administers or prescribes treatments and medications, consulting with physician as necessary.
· Orders vaccines to immunize from communicable diseases.
· Advises patients concerning diet, hygiene, and methods for prevention of disease.
· Ensures that medical care is completely and accurately documented in the medical record.
· Refers to medical specialists or other practitioners for specialized treatment.
· Performs minor surgery and other procedures commensurate with competency and delineated privileges.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and FQHC-specific guidelines and regulations, including HIPAA.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care in electronic health records (EHRs).
QUALIFICATIONS
· Graduate of an AMA Committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation-approved Physician Assistant Program or graduate of an accredited family nurse practitioner program.
· Master’s degree preferred.
· NCCPA certification or for CRNP -AANP or ANCC family nurse practitioner certification preferred.
· Current PA license in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
· CPR
· Federal Drug Enforcement Agency license
· Excellent ability to communicate effectively in both verbal and written form in the English language. Competence in Spanish is encouraged.
· Strong orientation for attention to details with excellent ability to plan work efficiently.
· Excellent disposition and ability to communicate effectively with all employees, patients, and callers.
