Cabinet Peaks Medical Center is looking for a Mammography Technologist Lead to join our Imaging Team!
Under the supervision of the Imaging Manager and under the general direction of the Imaging Medical Director, performs quality and complete imaging procedures to assist in a diagnosis of disease and injuries. The Imaging Technologist works effectively with patients and patients' families and maintains a cooperative relationship with interdepartmental personnel. Technologist is responsible for providing patient education, quality patient care, and will meet all regulatory compliance. This is not a comprehensive job description, and other duties or responsibilities may be assigned as needed.
Major Job Duties & Responsibilities
Produces quality exams within assigned modalities and assigned areas, including portable and C-Arm applications, X-Ray, DXA, CT, and fluoroscopic procedures. Applies principles of radiation protection, choice of protocol, knowledge of anatomy and pathology.
Maintains patient records and files, as appropriate. Properly navigates PACS. Provides accurate history, completed forms, and appropriate documentation of each exam performed.
Actively participates in departmental quality assurance program including preventative maintenance and other quality measures.
Practices patient safety including correct patient identification, safe transfers, radiation safety, standard precautions, infection control, fall prevention, and other patient safety measures.
Follows appropriate rules of punctuality, shift rotation, and modality coverage.
Performs other duties as requested by Manager.
Follows departmental policies and procedures.
Prepares and administers contrast media through IV or other routes.
Provides instruction and supervision to radiologic technologist students who are fulfilling their clinical requirements at CPMC.
Provides administrative duties, as needed, in connection with the front desk responsibilities of the department – alongside or in the absence of the receptionist.
Maintains competency in Mammography, 200 exams/ 24 months, 15 mammography based CE credits / 36 months.
Responsible for mammography QC and QA as defined by the MQSA.
Successful submission and completion of the ACR accreditation and potential audits.
Skills, Knowledge & Abilities
Pursues continuing education.
In absence of Manager, is able to assume responsibilities of the department.
Able to work well in situations of stress.
Practices professional interpersonal communication.
Must be willing and able to take call.
Must be willing to learn other imaging modalities as Manager and Medical Director see fit.
Able and willing to perform other duties as assigned.
Educational Requirements
Technologist must be a HS graduate or equivalent and have completed an accredited program in radiologic technology.
Technologist must be registered as a radiologic technologist and mammography required through ARRT.
BLS required.
Schedule
Technologist will take equal share in covering all shifts within the Imaging Department. This includes standard daytime hours, night time hours, weekend shifts and night call shifts.
Experience: Multi-modality technologist with Mammography experience preferred. 3-5 years of experience as a radiologic technologist is preferred. Minimum 1-year experience as a mammographer. Mammographer MQSA Compliant: 15 mammography-specific CME’s within the last 36 months, 200 mammograms performed in last 24 months, and 40 hours of initial training. Breast Ultrasound experience is preferred.
