Join Our Team as a Clinical Dietitian – Make a Difference in Behavioral Health and Long-Term Care!
Are you an experienced Clinical Dietitian looking for a rewarding opportunity to apply your expertise in a meaningful way? CAP Global Works, LLC, in partnership with the Department of Human Services (DHS) and the Office of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services (OMHSAS), is seeking a highly skilled Clinical Dietitian to join the South Mountain Restoration Center team. Located in Erie, PA, this onsite position offers the chance to work in a professional healthcare environment where your contributions directly improve the lives of residents in behavioral health and long-term care settings.
Position Summary
As a Clinical Dietitian at South Mountain Restoration Center, you will provide advanced clinical nutrition services to residents with complex medical, psychiatric, and behavioral health needs. From conducting comprehensive nutritional assessments to developing individualized care plans, your work will play a critical role in supporting the overall health and wellness of our residents. This is a first-shift, onsite role, offering a competitive pay rate of $52.00 per hour.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Nutrition Services
- Conduct comprehensive nutritional assessments for residents with complex medical and behavioral health conditions.
- Develop, implement, and monitor individualized nutrition care plans based on evidence-based practices.
- Provide medical nutrition therapy and assess nutritional risk factors to recommend appropriate dietary interventions.
- Monitor patient progress and adjust care plans as needed to achieve optimal health outcomes.
Patient and Family Education
- Educate residents, families, caregivers, and support staff on nutrition and healthy dietary practices.
- Develop educational materials and wellness initiatives to promote behavior modification and therapeutic nutrition.
Interdisciplinary Collaboration
- Work closely with physicians, nurses, social workers, psychologists, and other healthcare professionals.
- Participate in interdisciplinary treatment team meetings and contribute nutritional expertise to care planning.
Food Service Management and Compliance
- Review and approve facility menus to ensure nutritional adequacy and compliance with regulations.
- Monitor food service operations for quality, safety, and sanitation standards.
- Ensure adherence to DHS, OMHSAS, CMS, HIPAA, and other state and federal regulations.
Quality Improvement and Program Development
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and analyze nutrition-related outcomes.
- Assist in developing and updating nutrition policies and best practices.
Documentation and Reporting
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in electronic health records (EHR).
- Complete nutritional assessments, progress notes, and required reports.
Required Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Dietetics, Nutrition, Clinical Nutrition, Food and Nutrition, or a related field from an accredited institution.
Certifications and Licensure
- Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) credential through the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) – Required.
- Current Pennsylvania Dietitian/Nutritionist License, if applicable – Required.
Experience
- Minimum of 7–10 years of professional clinical dietitian experience.
- Extensive experience in medical nutrition therapy within healthcare, behavioral health, psychiatric, rehabilitation, or long-term care settings.
- Experience working with individuals with mental health disorders, substance use disorders, and complex medical conditions.
- Familiarity with regulatory surveys, audits, and accreditation reviews.
Skills
- Advanced clinical nutrition assessment and medical nutrition therapy expertise.
- Strong interdisciplinary collaboration and communication skills.
- Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) and clinical reporting.
- Leadership and mentorship abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in Nutrition, Public Health, or a related field.
- Specialty certifications such as Certified Nutrition Support Clinician (CNSC).
- Experience in state-operated healthcare facilities or long-term care centers.
- Background in quality improvement and performance management initiatives.
Working Conditions
