About Cape Cod AcademyCape Cod Academy (CCA) is a selective, independent, coeducational day school educating students in grades K-12. Located on 45 acres in Osterville, MA, Cape Cod Academy serves students and families from towns across the Cape and just over the bridge. Established in 1976 after the closing of the Friendship School and Sea Pines School, CCA is committed to offering a personalized approach to learning (PAL) in all our classrooms. The foundation of the PAL Program is knowing each student so that instructional methods and techniques can be adapted to the students learning process, making it the right fit for each individual learner. Programming includes student seminars, independent work, hands-on exercises, advisory meetings, and wellness activities. When students leave CCA, they are fully prepared to enter college as confident self-advocates for their own learning.

Summary:
Cape Cod Academy seeks an enthusiastic and engaging educator to teach Chemistry in the Upper School who is passionate about science education and committed to inspiring students through hands on, inquiry based learning. The ideal candidate fosters curiosity, encourages thoughtful problem solving, and builds meaningful relationships with students while contributing positively to a collaborative school community. This individual will also engage in the day-to-day life of a CCA Seahawk.
The successful candidate will be responsible for and demonstrate :
- Enthusiasm, flexibility, and a desire to collaborate with colleagues on a grade level, department level and across disciplines;
- Individual will teach 2 to 3 upper school Chemistry courses including laboratory instruction;
- Design engaging lessons that promote scientific inquiry, critical thinking, and real world application;
- Success in communicating with parents to provide timely and appropriate feedback regarding student progress;
- Create and maintain a safe, organized laboratory environment that follows established safety protocols;
- Assess student learning through a variety of formative and summative methods and provide timely, constructive feedback;
- Differentiate instruction to support diverse learning styles and abilities;
- Participate in department meetings, professional development, and selected school events as appropriate for a part time faculty member;
- model flexibility in both implementing best learning practices and pursuing success for each student
- possess a high degree of cultural competency and demonstrated experience working with diverse populations
- demonstrate fluency with academic technology that advances learning for students and a willingness to integrate technology into classroom experiences

Qualifications:While teacher certification is not required for employment at Cape Cod Academy, all candidates must have a minimum of a bachelor's degree in the subject field or a related field.
