Diagnostic Imaging Veterinary Technician
Cape Cod Veterinary Specialists | Buzzards Bay, MACape Cod Veterinary Specialists is expanding, and we are looking for a veterinary technician to join our Diagnostic Imaging team.
This position is great for a technician who enjoys advanced medicine, anesthesia, and the technical side of patient care. You will work closely with Radiology, Internal Medicine, Surgery, ECC, Exotics, and other specialty departments to help provide clear answers for patients, clients, and referring veterinarians.

About the Role
The Diagnostic Imaging Veterinary Technician supports advanced imaging procedures, patient preparation and recovery, anesthesia and sedation monitoring, client communication, medical documentation, and department workflow.
Responsibilities include:
- Assisting the sonographer and radiologist with advanced imaging procedures, including CT, ultrasound, and MRI following our current expansion
- Supporting future fluoroscopy procedures as this service is added
- Preparing and recovering patients for imaging procedures
- Monitoring anesthesia and sedation
- Gathering accurate patient histories from clients
- Documenting clearly in the electronic medical record
- Helping maintain communication and patient flow between Diagnostic Imaging and other departments
- Communicating professionally and compassionately with clients and referring veterinarians
- Processing laboratory samples as needed
- Supporting patient comfort, safety, and high-quality care throughout each case
Our Expansion
CCVS is adding 10,000 square feet of clinical space to the Buzzards Bay hospital. This expansion includes three new specialty services (Neuro, Ophtho, and Dentistry), growth within current services, additional doctors in Internal Medicine, Dermatology, Cardiology, and Radiology, and the addition of MRI and fluoroscopy.
For a technician interested in Diagnostic Imaging, this means more advanced cases, new equipment, expanded learning opportunities, and the chance to grow with a department that is continuing to develop.
Schedule and Compensation

Pay range: $22–$32/hour
- Compensation is based on experience, credentials, schedule, and alignment with the roleMost new hires can expect an offer between the minimum and midpoint of the range

Minimum of 30 hours per week in Radiology, Monday through Saturday
- Additional shifts may be scheduled in ECC to reach 40 hours
- Rotating holiday schedule and one weekend shift per week
- Sign-on bonus up to $2,500

Qualifications
Strongly preferred:
- Current CVT, LVT, or RVT, or ability to obtain licensure within six months
- VTS-DI or interest in pursuing specialty certification
Ideal candidates will have:
- At least one year of veterinary nursing experience
- Diagnostic imaging experience preferred
- Strong anesthesia monitoring skills
- Excellent communication and time management skills
- Strong attention to detail
- A calm, positive, and team-focused approach
- The ability to anticipate patient and team needs
- Comfort working in a busy specialty hospital environment
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
