The salary range listed is an estimate. Pay at Cardinal Health is determined by multiple factors including, but not limited to, a candidate’s geographical location, relevant education, experience and skills and an evaluation of internal pay equity.
Schedule:
Sunday - Thursday: 7:45pm - 5am EST (times will slightly fluctuate based on work requirements - candidates must be flexible with shift times)
What Warehouse Operations contributes to Cardinal Health:
Operations is responsible for materials handling and product distribution in a distribution or manufacturing environment. Includes warehousing and fulfillment of materials and products, transportation, inventory management as well as demand, supply and manufacturing planning.
Warehouse Operations is responsible for performing/controlling a combination of manual or automated tasks necessary for the receipt, storage, and shipment of product. This may include functions of receiving, picking, packing, shipping, staging, transporting, storage, delivery, etc. Also responsible for the efficient flow of products from the point of product receipt from vendors to the shipment of products (via prescribed service parameters) to a variety of internal and external customers.
Job Summary:
The Manager, Warehouse Operations Inbound oversees the building’s inbound processing, including receiving, put away, and returns to achieve operational efficiency and safety. Through successful operational and people management, this job delivers on the business unit’s short-term goals, improves profitability, and develops the business unit’s warehouse talent. This job also responds to urgent customer needs or supply disruptions to ensure customer commitments are fulfilled.
Responsibilities:
Oversees daily outbound operations. Ensures operations are in compliance to the business unit’s standard operating procedures and implements operational changes cascaded from the Site Director.
Directs people management processes for the warehouse, including staffing, training and development, and talent management for 30-70 staff. Recognizing the employees’ diverse skillsets and levels of experience, provides motivational leadership and champions a culture of high performance, learning, and safety.
Responds to disruptions in inbound processing and ensures that customer commitments are fulfilled. Communicates with Sales and Customer Service teams within the business unit to understand customer concerns and makes adjustments to operations and people resources in response.
Manages all safety trainings and procedures for warehouse operations, ensuring that operations are in compliance with safety regulations and best practices. Applies knowledge of warehouse safety to continuously and proactively mitigate risks.
Monitors performance and productivity metrics and reports on operational outcomes to Site Director.
Qualifications:
8-12 years of experience, preferred
Bachelor’s degree in related field, or equivalent work experience, preferred
5+ years of supervisory/management experience, preferred
Possess a strong understanding of distribution operations and measurement systems preferred
Be able to hire a team and hold individuals accountable for results
Understand lean production principles and possess the ability to measure the performance of a process preferred
Possess strong analytical skills
Possess strong communication and relationship building skills (i.e., have the ability to manage change)
Understand fundamental production planning principles (e.g., capacity vs. demand)
Possess the ability to learn and execute activities within warehouse and inventory management systems
Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma Principles and how they are beneficial preferred
Contribute to a work environment shows respect for every individual through the relentless pursuit of standardized work
Be a team player, results focused, and operate with a sense of urgency
